00 Once you said fried chicken, we all were like, "Yeah." >> Like you was talking about fried chicken before and I was like, and we're like, "Oh, Mexican food. We are getting tacos algoro." For some reason, when the fitness guy suggests a food, I think I'm being healthy by agreeing, [laughter] >> Jollibee. >> No matter what you say. I'm like, "Ah, he said it, so it must be good." >> Welcome back to another episode of Careful Boys. Today, um, we're going to have Nick. >> We're gonna have Nick host. He's gonna interview Bart and do a check-in with Bart. >> Let's go, Nick. Ask the juicy questions and don't ████ up, dude. Don't even make it boring and ████ >> I ████ got this. >> But you got to sit in that position you were in earlier. >> All right. So, the position he was talking about was this. >> Yeah. Let's see what you were doing. You did something pretty tantalizing. >> You had to walk around the mic. You didn't have to [laughter] walk. >> He's like a cat.

50 >> You didn't have to walk around the >> All right. Now, this segment is um >> Wait, if he's interviewing me, shouldn't I be like that? >> Nah, dude. I'm just I was just really tired earlier and >> what kind of >> super casual kind of host >> is it? Can you frame it so that this is like got his whole like body. >> All right. >> This is how I like to just hang with the boys. >> That's how therapists should ████ talk to their clients. The make the client sit like this and the therapist laying down. >> So, how does that make you feel? Um, so Bart, uh, let's do a check-in with Bart, everybody. Round of applause. >> Yay. [applause and cheering] >> Checking in with Bart. So Bart, since we've established what we can and cannot talk about. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Let's do a check-in with Bart. Okay. So Bart, how are how are you feeling emotionally, spiritually, and physically? You start with one of the three.

40 >> I'll just go in the order. >> Uh emotionally. >> Emotionally comfortable. >> Um I feel pretty happy. I feel like um this year was a pretty big year for me because I have a lot of things going on and um I'm trying to and and I've been trying to and I've been going down the checklist of like checking all the boxes and it's getting closer and closer to completing. So like without getting too much into the details, I think by next year I should be able to be like like pretty much semi-retired. Whoa. Whoa. Wow. >> Yeah. Like I'll be semi-retired and Gio could be a stay-at-home mom and we should be like >> like achieve the goal we've been trying to do for like the last I don't know how long. 10 years or something.

30 >> Holy crap, dude. That's huge. >> Let's give a round of applause for Bart, please. >> Retirement. >> So, emotionally, it's it's um it feels good, but a lot of ups and downs, you know, like for example, one of the crazy ones um was Bitcoin. like I needed I I I was banking on that transaction to pay off one of the home refies that I have. So, a lot of like a lot of like money movement but like in big amounts, you know? >> So, anytime you have ████ like that, it's always like ████ And then if something doesn't go right, you're like, "God damn Jesus ████ Christ." And then um but it it it all kind of like is playing out the way it should. So, I have like maybe one or two more really big transactions, which I can't announce just yet, but when it happens, I'll announce it and then we should be

20 pretty good. So, emotionally, I'm pretty happy. >> So, have you thought about what you're going to do while you're semi-retired? Do you know what that looks like? >> Honestly, I don't know yet. I had I haven't even had have the bandwidth in like the last 20 years to even think about that. >> It's like saying like the way it feels. It's almost like you got into a car accident and ████ your you couldn't feel your fingers and legs and arms and toes for like 10 years and then you're like, have you thought about what musical instrument you want to get into? [laughter] I haven't even touched my dick for 10 years, dude. That's [laughter] what it feels like. I haven't touched my dick. >> Yeah. Like I haven't >> I'm not touching myself before violin. >> I have I'm not going to play any flutes besides my own penis. [laughter] But emotionally it feels good and and we're in in a phase where like um you

10 know like Gio's a stay-at-home mom. She loves what she's doing and um and it feels like we have a lot of purpose in our family. Like Ta hasn't had a seizure in two years. >> Hey, that's awesome. >> So, a lot of those things are like playing out >> good, you know? That's pretty pretty cool. >> That's great. >> So, that's emotionally. What was the the next one? >> Physically, why do you >> physically? >> Yeah, physically. Let's talk about physically right now. >> Let's talk about why >> physically I'm a little bit fatter than I'd like to be right now, but it's also like holiday season, so I kind of give it a little >> Just order fried chicken right now and we're going to get fried chicken tomorrow. [laughter] >> And we're getting fried chicken cuz you suggested it. >> Once you said fried chicken, we all were like, "Yeah, >> but you was talking about fried chicken before." And I was like, and we're like, "Oh, Mexican food. We are getting tacos algoro." For some reason, when the

00 fitness guy suggests a food, I think I'm being healthy by agreeing. [laughter] >> Jollibee, >> no matter what you say, I'm like, "Ah, he said it, so it must be good." >> If he gives us the pass, then we can go do it. >> But yeah, I'm like 190. Um, I would like to be slight like low 180 or high 170. That would >> really >> that I would like to be that. Yeah. >> What the hell? I'm trying to get I'm trying to get up, dude. >> Really? >> I'm trying to get high. >> I'm trying to get I I want to be like under 15% body fat. That'd be cool. >> So, physically, >> you're not there now. No, I'm probably like ████ 19 or 20 or something. >> Really? I'm not buying that. >> But I would like to be physically leaner. I feel like all around like you know when you're >> all around you feel better like lighter. >> I don't I don't have like powerlifting goals so to speak anymore. >> So it's just more so like all around athletic like I could snowboard, I could

50 run this, I could do jiu-jitsu, I could do and then just be all around. Um but physically I think I still have some ways to go. >> That's where I'm at. What's the one after that? >> Spiritually. >> You be praying and ████ >> I pray with Ta. Yeah, we pray. Me, Ta J, we pray every single night, which is really cool. >> Um, >> do you still do it in an Italian accent? He gets mad at you. [laughter] >> You should do an Italian accent. >> Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. >> No, we don't do that anymore. But I do like uh one of our favorite things about it, it's it's kind of like uh you know when you go to like confessions or whatever where you're like you can almost speak in third person and you're able to get thoughts off your chest while like the priest listens to you. So, when we're praying, like we're all kind of into ourselves and we get to speak in third person and just kind of vent things and it's a it's a fun way of

43 communicating because usually you're speaking directly to someone and uh we get to kind of give each other props like, "Oh man, had the cookies. Uh, thank God I was really grateful for the cookies that Gio made. It was so bomb." And you know, and she never is in the kitchen ever. I don't know why. We have this super nice kitchen. She never uses it, but it's really awesome. So, I get do these backhanded compliments. Yeah. His passive aggressive prayers. Yeah. And I just see Tao like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah." [laughter] And then I see Gio looking at me like this death stare like, "You motherfucker." [laughter] Cuz we make it a a space where like you can't say anything wrong. There's no off limits. So it's really safe. So it's fun to have like this confessional form of communication that we get to have. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And it's protected. [laughter] >> Yeah. It's protected. Yeah. You can't >> Is that like when people do the we end but we don't judge. Yeah. Yeah. We Yeah.

35 And you get to just >> Does Gio clap back at you though? >> What [laughter] does she say about you? >> She's like, "Finally, Bart decided to take a shower today. Thank God for that." >> I never remember what she says, but most the time she just gives me a death stare and I think she takes the assignment more seriously than I do. >> Oh, >> she does it proper. [laughter] >> She's never in the This episode is brought to you by RP. How about [laughter] How about How about your spiritual uh journey with jiu-jitsu, dude? What's How's that been going? >> I thought you was going to say Jesus. [laughter] >> Your spiritual journey with jiu-jitsu. Like, how's that going? What the hell is that? >> Like, you haven't felt >> Yeah, you've been working pretty hard at it. >> Yeah, martial art isn't just a sport. I thought you knew that. >> Yeah, duh. Even Joe knows. >> Spiritual journey, man. >> Self-development, man. Spiritual. >> What kind of gains you making in jiu-jitsu, brother? Spiritual wise, I

18 guess my journey in jiu-jitsu, one thing that I really discovered was uh if jiu-jitsu was a ladder, it's ████ up. [laughter] Like the rungs aren't equally spaced out. >> So I think white belt is the first rung, right? And then you think, okay, second rung is blue, third is purple, brown, black. It goes white and then the first rung is blue. And it's like, oh, cool. It's right there. The purple, I think, is up here. THEY'RE LIKE, "WHAT the what the hell?" So, it's more like a bouldering gym. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. [laughter] >> Yeah. You got to be able to do one of those like ████ >> and then you grab purple. >> It's ████ crazy. Like, so there's so many people like it's common not only in our gym, but you know, in just the jiu-jitsu world uh realm where they like

09 they they bug their coach. When am I going to get my next promotion? >> Oh, really? Yeah. There there's a lot of it. And in my mind, I'm like, >> "Are you ████ kidding me? You're going to get ████ destroyed by the next belt?" Because like once people see you're the next one, they're going to treat you a different way than before. >> And like I felt like once I got into the blue belt realm, it's like, "Okay, you're not a beginner anymore." And then I realized like what I thought was the ocean was like this. And then now the cruise boat went around the ████ mountain. and you're like, "Oh my god, it's the ████ Atlantic. I thought it was a ████ Panama Canal the whole time." [laughter] So, it's like it's it's it's a lot, which I think is cool. And I'm like, I see why it takes 10 years at the minimum, you know? I see. >> That's my journey. I think it's cool doing it with Gio. >> The whole family.

59 >> Yeah. Cuz we get to talk about it and then uh we do it with Ta. So, whenever like me and Ta are wrestling, it's like kind of like we both know stuff. So, when we wrestle, it's like a fun >> wrestle. technical. >> Yeah. Like a little bit more technical goofing around, which is cool. And then we get to all three watch matches and also have the same conversation. Oh, why don't they do that? Oh, yeah. So, it's almost like, you know, those those families that watch football together. It's like that. We get to be like like that together, which is cool. >> But you can also play football technically with each other now. Yeah. >> At home, even with the dogs, too. >> Oh, [laughter] yeah. But that's me spiritually jiu-jitsu. What else? >> Wow, man. Sounds like you're doing ████ kind of great. >> Sounds like you're actually killing it. >> Ask him the same question though. ████ one through 10. He said one through 10 out of your goals.

49 >> Oh yeah. Yeah. >> Out of one through 10. 10 being I have achieved all my goals. Where are you at right now? >> That's a good one. [laughter] >> That was really You've interviewed people, HUH? >> NO, HE'S THE HE'S THE ONE THAT ASKED YOU THIS QUESTION EARLIER. >> OH, he did. He did. If out of everything at this point in my life, I think probably like a nine. >> So you're pretty unhappy then? [laughter] >> That's what he said to me. So you're miserable then, huh? >> I'm Yeah, I'm pretty happy >> cuz being so close. >> Are you so sad, B? Dude, you know after 10 there's nothing else to look look forward to. You must be miserable. >> That's true. I should >> Your life is over once we hit 10. >> Gain more weight so that have looked forward to more weight to lose. Yeah, [laughter] we'll do that today. That's why chicken and waffles tomorrow. >> Yep. I'm I'm pretty happy. I'm pretty I

39 mean it would have been 10 if Bitcoin went to 200,000 like they said it was going to in October. >> Yeah, that was that s███'s like 80,000 right now. Oh, ████ me, man. >> That would have been sick. >> You guys buying the dip? My ████ I got to wait another four four years for this ████ Son of a ████ ████ But um yeah, that would have been a 10 or 11. >> Yeah. >> Um but yeah, I think overall I'm really happy with where my life is at with my family and everything. >> Trying to really work out my relationship with my mom still. >> Um one of the recent discoveries I had was uh I don't think I could change the relationship. It would just have to be me learning how to tolerate her more. And then that is the relationship. She ain't going to change that. >> Too stubborn. ain't going to change at all. Especially with older parents, dude. I feel like >> they're stuck in their ways, man.

29 >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And they should they honestly shouldn't be asked to change at that point. >> Yeah, that's true. >> You got there doing this ████ >> here now. Recently, I'll just end with this one last story, but it was crazy. Recently, it's um my mom was like, "Hey, don't text me. I'm going to go to the mountains and ████ pray or whatever, right?" I'm like, "Okay." So, she's like, "I'll be back uh in October." So, this was like back in ████ August. She's going to be for two months. >> She's doing a pilgrimage. Yeah. I was like, "All right, all right." >> And I'm like, "Okay." And then October came around and I'm like, "Yo, everything okay? You back?" Nothing. Week later, text her, "Are everything okay?" And then mid to late October, I was like, "Everything okay?" And I'm like, "Holy ████ what the ████ Did she die? What the ████ going on?" I was about I was about to text uh like another mutual friend and then she finally gets back to me and then she's

19 like, "Hey, I'm doing good." I'm like, "Oh, Jesus Christ." I'm like, "Everything is cool. like, "How was the ████ mountains or whatever?" She goes, "I never even went." And I'm like, "What the what's up with the like two months no [laughter] ████ phone call or I was in Chino Hills for a couple months." And I was like, "What's up with the ████ no responses or whatever?" So apparently she's been hanging with one of her fortune teller homies and I think she's been getting these weird hives or whatever. So she said to ble in order to bless her or whatever like whatever service they had to go through. She wanted her to not have any outside contact for 2 months. And I'm like, you know, that's the start of a cult, right? When they tell you to like cut off all your ████ people. She No, no, no, no. I went to the doctor. They gave me antibiotics. The hives went away. >> She went to the doctor anyway.

10 >> No, this is before. So she went to the doctor, got antibiotics or whatever. The hives went away. And then she goes, "But I know that's not the root cause. The root cause can only be cured by going to my fortune teller." >> No, it's not. You might be having mold exposure. >> Yeah. So, she went to So, so she did go to the mountains, but she came back within a week because of her ████ Then she went to the doctor and then she ended up going to her ████ uh uh ████ fortune teller person. And then to confirm if that person actually cured her whatever ████ she had, she went to other fortune teller. homie, can you confirm that the other person did? And she did confirm it. >> So in her mind, it's third party. >> It's getting peer reviewed. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> And then uh and then I was like, "Did you tell uncle, which is her brother, like did you tell uncle about all this?" Goes, "No, you know what he's going to say." And it's because her uh her brother is a dentist. So she's like in

01 the medical field, right? So she's on my he's going to be on my side. So she didn't even want to hear it from like you're going to go to a fortune teller to carry your ████ hives or whatever. And so when I had this realization that she's just too deep into this like crazy world that she's in and there's no way I'll ever be able to change her. So I just have to like like adapt tolerate pretend I'm hearing that she went to Kaiser Permanente but she didn't. [laughter] >> You got to like make room for the silliness. >> Yeah. I'm like oh. And then take it seriously too. Like Oh, okay. Cool. Was that what she said? >> Yeah. Oh, >> okay. So, the got to humor her. Yeah. The dust and the air really like made the joints feel better. Okay, good. >> Cuz I feel like asking questions will provide all the insight you need. >> Yeah, >> that's true. >> Being curious about it.

51 >> But that's what I'm working on with my mom, >> man. Well, hey, dude. Thanks for checking in. [laughter]
