05 Welcome back to another episode of Server Battle 2025. Since we have three people in here who were previously restaurant servers, we're going to figure out who the best one actually was. >> I think it was probably Bonos. >> Could be. >> I'm going to I'm I'm going to smoke you still. >> All right, let's see. >> But I found out how Bonos treats guys. So, I think it's probably Joe or Nick that wins. >> Yeah. >> What do you mean how I treat guys? [laughter] What do you mean? How I treat guys? >> I don't want to make you look bad. Somebody just to keep it there. >> Question number one. What's the biggest mistake you made on the job? >> Forgetting someone's order. >> That's the worst thing. >> Isn't that the worst thing you could do? >> Oh, yeah. You're right. It is. >> Table of six. And I still had my trainee badge. >> Yeah. >> And uh it was a table of was like six or seven and I just forgot one person's burger >> and >> Honey Rockets. That's a card. >> And I got I got everyone else's except for that one. And that's the >> Was he the one that paid too that had to
55 pay? >> No, I don't remember. I don't remember. But they they for sure were like they didn't tip me. >> What if you just >> they were like they were definitely mad at me. >> Could you just racially like stereotype like uh black guy chicken sandwich for sure? >> Yeah, I would do that actually. [laughter] >> Okay. How does that solve the problem? >> So you give him the right thing. >> Oh, okay. >> I I guess I just forgot to put one of the orders in. >> And so he's sitting by himself >> with no food. Everyone else got their stuff >> and he was like waiting for it and I was like, "Hold on." So I I had to go to the >> You've only done that one time? >> That was the only time I done that. >> Oh, that's pretty good. All right. I ████ felt so terrible. I was like, "Oh my god, never again. I never want to do this again cuz I felt so bad." And they they were like kind of being s█████ to me too a little bit. >> Oh, really? What' they do? >> They were like, "Oh, he's a trainee. That's why." Like kind of that type of ████ And I was like >> had that coming. >> Oh, so it's a white a white lady. >> Yeah. >> I knew it. >> Only Only they talk to people like that.
46 >> Oh, really? Like the condescending uh >> Hey, I I deserved it a little bit, but at the same time, it's like >> I made it right, though. >> That's nice. It's not that bad. >> I gave him a free milkshake. >> All right. What about you guys? Who made the bigger mistake at work? Drop something. Uh, accidentally tally up the orders incorrectly. >> Your feet. >> Should you go last because that looks pretty bad. >> Yeah. Why don't you go, Joe? >> Go, Joe. >> Mine's not that bad. >> I put in the order. I forgot to run it out. >> Boss was just sitting there. >> What? Yeah, I was sitting there and then but then the they were like, "Hey, um, it was this couple, really nice couple, and they're like a >> volcano." >> Yeah. They're like, "Hey, is the fried rice still coming out?" And then because I was a traininee, I didn't know how to ████ I would just go, "OH, [laughter] YEAH. YEAH, DUDE. YEAH. Cuz like that's that's
37 how you know the difference of a beginner and someone that's just like, I'll check I'll check on the kitchen. >> Hold on. ████ this up. Let me check it out." >> And you run back and you're like, "Please, chef, I ████ up. Please." [laughter] >> That's the way to do it. >> Way to do beg the guy making it to like >> when you're inexperienced your face goes uhoh. >> Yeah. >> On the fly. On the fly, please. Please. >> I remember my face turned white. >> When what they ended up saying was, "No, actually, we're we're so full. Can we can we cut it?" And then I ran back and then the fried rice has been sitting there. >> Yeah, it's all crispy. >> It's crispy. It's all like It's not even warm anymore. So, I was like, "Damn." >> Took it off the order. >> They're cool with it. >> Okay. Um, I I got lucky though because if they're waiting like that, >> I would have been like, [snorts]
27 [laughter] >> that's so funny to show the emotion immediately. Dude, that's amateur ████ though, right? Like >> I forgot to put it in. >> OH MY GOD. [laughter] A >> You see it all the time. >> We got We got Nick on first, Joe on second, and now here comes the grand slam home [laughter] run. It's not that crazy, but theirs are so boring. >> We got Bonos from Cheesecake Factory. >> This is why I was a worse server after your story as well. Go ahead. >> Go ahead. >> I don't think this makes me a bad server. >> Um, it was just it was a mistake. >> Um, so at this the restaurant that I worked at, there's this area called the ratunda. It's like a round room and it was like it's I don't know like nine booths and then there's one big table in the middle. So, when you're talking to the big table, you're basically
18 projecting to the whole room, right? >> Oh, okay. >> Um, >> the ratunda. >> And at the Cheesecake Factory where I worked, you had to at every after every meal before you presented the check, you always had to do a dessert presentation. So, no matter what, you always have to like talk about, you know, one or two cheesecakes. >> Nice little right there. >> Yep. Yeah. And so, um, at that time on the back of the menu, we were promoting the Reese's peanut butter, uh, cheesecake, >> and I accidentally said Reese's penis. >> Nice. [laughter] >> Nice. >> So, what the ████ is wrong with you, dude? >> Literally in the middle of this dessert >> presentation. Okay. [laughter] >> Guys are like, "Yes, >> I'll take four, hun." How am I going to have [laughter]
09 >> family with like >> penis? >> And then like I literally not kids, but I don't [laughter] know who else was in the the other booths. And I like I said like, "Okay." And then we also had the Reese's penis. And I paused. And then the guy was like, "What?" [laughter] >> And then I literally just bounced. I left. I didn't finish the dessert presentation. I went straight to my manager and he was kind of he was cool. And I told him what happened. And he was like, "I'm not saving you from now. [laughter] >> That's on you." >> So I So I ignored this table for like 20 minutes. >> No way. >> And I went back and I just dropped the check and I left. And when I came back, the guy was like, "Can you tell us about the desserts again?" [laughter] >> That's awesome. >> I liked it. >> That's awesome. >> And I was like I was just like, "Are you ready to pay?
59 >> I'll have the Reese's penis." >> No. No. No. No. But Oh my god. You should have came back 20 minutes later and says, "Hey, sorry. I checked with my manager." It's actually the Reese's Pieces. [laughter] >> Pieces. Sorry. >> Pieces. >> I misread it. >> Reese's pieces. Pieces. >> We don't have penis here. I thought we did, but we don't. >> I'm sorry. I thought it was a typo. >> Reese's [laughter] penis. [gasps] >> The Freyer. >> That was one of the That was so embarrassing. And like for how loud I had to say it because I had to project in that room. Oh, it's the whole the whole room. The whole retunda. >> Say it in the in the volume. You >> No. >> Reese's penis. >> Reese's penis butter ████ I mean cup. I [laughter] mean ████ >> I had a Freudian slip like that. >> You did that too. >> I was ordering and it was um I and then the the people that were there, they
50 recognized me cuz they knew my parents. So it was like church friends or some ████ and I didn't know. It was a coincidental I was in the business. >> So >> me and my buddies did not. So, my brain was all fried and I'm like, [laughter] and then the daughter was there. She was taking the order and I said, "I'll get a condom number five." And [laughter] my friend looked at me and I didn't know I said condom. Condom number five. >> You didn't even know you said [laughter] it. >> And then my friend goes, "Condom?" And then they started laughing. [laughter] They're in tears. >> And they thought I did it on purpose. >> Oh. To be funny. Okay. >> Yeah. And then the girl looked at me like very funny and I was like, "Oh s███." [snorts] >> All right. Which one of you three? Let's start with Nick. Who had the most um inter workplace relationships?
43 >> Most workplace >> and yours counts where your gay manager was trying to hit on you. >> Yeah. >> Um I honestly Yeah. I had no workplace relationships. I didn't really like my some of my co-workers a lot. Even the ones that were girls, >> they were cool. There was one dude I couldn't stand working with cuz this ████ was so slow, bro. >> I hate slow people. >> And it would be like, dog, there's two of us where there's two servers. We have to do the whole restaurant. You know what I mean? Like bar two. There was like there was two sections of bar and all the table >> and outdoor. >> Dang. >> So, a lot of times like two Yeah. and I would work and sometimes we have a manager that would help out but it was like >> yo like and he wouldn't deal with his customers, right? >> So sometimes his tables would be like, "Hey, can I get this? Can I get this?" >> So I'd be like running around trying to like get his cl his his table some stuff
34 while I'm trying to do like serve my people. >> So I remember I used to every time I'd be I would see his name Joe on this schedule, I'd be like ████ >> of course his name is Joe. >> I'll be like god damn it, dude. I ████ and I liked him. That was the thing. I really liked him. Like when I would talk to him, he was super cool. We'd have good conversations that work, but when I worked with him, I wanted to slam his head in against the wall, bro. I was like, "Dog, can you walk a little faster?" And he he'd be like, "Uh, he'd be at the computer. I'll be like, "Bro, hurry up. I got to put my orders in, dude." And he's like, [clears throat] and I just think about actually gets me really upset. >> Did you have people like that? >> You know what I'm saying? SLOW PEOPLE. >> WHY are you so Why do Why do you not know how to move with urgency? Like everything they do is so >> bro and we had no food runners so we had to do drinks and >> so it was like we had to do and we had to bust our own table sometimes.
24 >> What the heck? >> Like most of the time we had to bust our own table so it was just like that's why the restaurant never did well. >> And you have to clean you have to wipe them down too. >> Yeah, bro. You got to take you know it was like it was such a pain in the ass. >> But me and my old boss Prince, we had a lovely relationship. [laughter] I learned a lot from him. He's my mentor. >> I feel like you had a couple, didn't you? in volcano. >> Just one that I remember. >> Oh, >> yeah. And >> that you remember? >> Yeah. She worked there. She's [laughter] >> She's uh Yeah. And then her her uh I got a call from her number and then the the person on the on the line was her boyfriend >> and she told me she was single, but they got back together and I didn't know that. And he was crying. I thought he wanted to fight, but he ended up crying. [laughter] >> Yeah. Crying to you.
14 >> And I was like, "What the f███?" I was like, "You guys need to handle your own s███." I was like, "She told me this." And so that's it. Yeah. Did you date anyone? Yeah. I think you dated someone at work before, right? Back in the day. >> Yeah, I dated a few. [laughter] >> You win. >> Well, and then one of them became my husband. >> Wait, that's cool. >> That's where he worked. >> That one. Tell us about that story. You guys met at Cheesecake Cat Factory? >> Isn't that romantic? >> That's cool. Were you guys eating Reese's penis >> and the pumpern nickel bread? [laughter] >> Reese's penis >> and pumpern nickel bread. >> I love the pumpern nickel, dude. >> It's actually just whole wheat. >> That's pretty cute. Shut up. >> Mhm. Mind-blowing. Mind blowing. >> Do you have a favorite cheesecake there? >> Um, actually really like the banana cream. The tuxedo is really good. The chocolate tuxedo.
05 >> Um, yeah. Lemon raspberry. Oo, lemon raspberry is really good. >> Did he like you like from the beginning >> or after you said Reese's penis? >> He had like a crush on you in the workplace. Everybody knew a >> crush on him. >> Oh yeah. >> Who crushed on who? >> He's younger than me. So when he first started, he was only 21. So I wasn't really attracted at that time cuz 21 year olds, you know, you're >> How old were you at? >> I was 23. >> Oh, I see. >> Yeah. Yeah. The younger you are, the bigger of a difference. It's like >> cuz a new a fresh 21-year-old is much different than someone who's >> Yeah. One's >> completely ████ The other one's only half ████ [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Three, four. >> So, we didn't date till like 2 or 3 years later. >> Yeah. >> When when we first met >> after Were you guys both at Cheesecake or It was after both you guys left Cheesecake?
55 >> No, I was at Cheesecake for a long time. >> Yeah. >> So, you guys >> So, it was during Cheesecake. But would there be tension when you guys would like be in those tight hallways and saying, "Oh, corner." And you're like, "Oh, oh, hey, >> oh, hey, what's up?" >> Sides close. >> Well, actually, so there was no tension in that way, I don't think. But when we first started dating, we were It was hidden. So, we hid it for like 6 months from everyone. >> So, that was fun. [laughter] >> Was a bartender at the time. >> Yeah, I was a bartender. So, he would slip me notes. He would slip me notes. >> What would he say on >> and I would make all his drinks first. >> That's That's the perks. >> Wait, did you work at Cheesecake in Pasadena? >> Um Brea. >> Oh, Brea. >> Yeah, >> I've been to that one. >> Yeah. >> Terrible service, huh? >> I I went I went in high school.
46 >> I only been there to visit you. >> Yeah. [laughter] Yeah. >> Oh, that's really cute. >> Who which one of you three had the most like disciplinary notes of like either you were late or anything like that? They would always give me ████ for not wearing my hat. >> Oh yeah, I remember this. >> And I'd be like, "No, I'm not going to wear the ████ hat, dude." >> Really? You never wear the hat? >> Not going to wear the ████ hat. >> Aren't you supposed to? That's the dress code. No. >> Yeah. And I was like, "No, dude. No." >> What if you worked at In-N-Out? You wouldn't wear the hat. >> That was a little different. I think >> the hat's the same. >> You like that hat better? >> I thought the hats were the same. >> No. Cuz everybody has to wear that ████ hat. But for whatever reason at Giant, I just felt like they couldn't make me wear the hat. And so I was like, "No, I'm not going to wear." You know what I mean? I was like, "No, you there's nothing you can do." I remember there was one manager, this little short Mexican dude, and he was nice, but like >> I was like, "Dude, shut up." Like, anytime you tell me something, I'd be like, >> "I'm not going to listen to you." I'll
36 be like, "All right, cool." And I just wouldn't listen. That's >> so messed up. >> And he'd be like, I was a little jerk. I was a little jerk. But at the same time, I was like, "You don't do my in my head in Nick's brain at as a 21-year-old. I was like I was like, "You guys don't do ████ I'm the one doing all the tables. I'm the one ████ I was and at the time I was confident in my serving ability and I was like dude I'm better than half these whether that's true or not >> right okay >> but in my head I was like bro I'm better than these ████ guys like >> I work the rushes ████ you wear two hats >> yeah [laughter] >> cuz it would always fall off >> it would always fall off and I look like a dumbass and I was like ████ this >> too fast that's why your coworker was moving slower >> yeah cuz you're hustling dude >> yeah probably okay did you get in trouble for anything at work >> no >> never not one thing you never late No, I was never. That's why it's so hard for me to like I'm like, "How can you not be on time? How can you miss shift?"
26 >> Employees that are like messing up. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Damn. >> But I I got into a lot of situations with managers and stuff where I'm surprised I didn't get fired. >> Okay. >> Like I got into screaming fest. I even got grabbed one of my managers and like threw him and then and pushed him. >> Sick. >> What the heck? >> He had it coming though probably. >> Yeah. I mean, she had it coming. >> Were you ever late? >> Never. >> You never weren't late. How many years? How many years perfect attendance is this? >> Nine. >> Nine years. Never late. That's >> Bow down. Bow down. >> No, I didn't get in trouble. >> Bonus and Joe, I think. [applause] >> Yeah. Absolutely not you. >> She never put hands on her manager. [laughter] >> I also stole money from them. >> You what? I would I would I would table drop where you like you print an old receipt and you I'd ask certain like
18 this is towards the end where I was like man ████ this place. I was I'm going to make my money and the people that would pay cash I mean you paying cash or card and then you say cash. So I'd drop like a old bill and they would pay cash and I >> No way. >> Allegedly. Allegedly I did this. >> You're a bad boy, man. >> You want that cut or do you want it in? >> Yeah. And people would they would get drinks and I I would just give them the drink and then pop >> all these in or is this after the >> You're going to jail, Bat Boy. >> Leave it in, bro. Okay, >> the bad boy. >> Leave it in.
