00 It is one of the most diverse cities like in the nation like by stats which is cool. I think even Cal Williams shouted us out because of that where he said early in his career >> he moved to different cities to try to make everybody laugh. He's like, "Oh, I was making black people laugh but how can I make like everybody laugh?" And you go to Sacramento to hit different crews. Oh, >> welcome back to an episode of Careful Boys. Today we got Silent Mike with us here. Oh my god. >> And uh Silent Mike is is going to tell us all >> how Sacramento is better than LA. >> Oh, >> but Vegas is the best, huh? >> We're going we're going to leave Vegas out of the fight for now just cuz it's that would be unfair. >> Like a tomato. Tell me about it. >> The NorCal SoCal battle. >> Yeah. I want to hear like ways that Sacramento is actually superior to LA. >> All right. So, one, >> you guys got a river. >> We have two. We have two rivers.

51 >> Oh, man. >> You can actually swim in it, too. >> And you tube. We tube in them all summer. >> Yeah. >> What are they? American River, right? >> And Sacramento River. >> Okay. >> Right. >> You could tube that ████ all the way down to San Francisco, which is our neighbor, where your neighbor is Bakersfield. [laughter] >> All right. So, there's two points. >> Yeah. I don't even think >> Bakersfield is pretty sweet. All right. >> I don't think LA has a swimmable river. >> Is that what it looks like? >> Is a hepatitis river, >> bro? That's probably That's probably south on the I5. Yeah, that's probably just like Elro vision. Dude, you could rent a ████ massive tube or raft and then David's mom made us a bunch of ████ Kimop Korean rolls and ████ and we got iced tea and then we went on this thing and we just chill float ████ eat >> every summer or you get or you just get single tubes and you just rope everybody together and you're just moving down like a giant mattress. >> That's dope. >> All summer is fire. >> Okay, so River >> River is really cool. Um basic benefits

44 you got uh San Francisco hour and a half away, Lake Tahoe, hour and a half away. Wine country hour and a half away, >> right? So those are just three bangers you could do on any day for a day trip. Yeah, Tahoe is one of >> Reno too. You can get there pretty quickly. >> Yeah, Tahoe is one of my favorite places in the world. >> Big sir up there. >> Oh, >> that's a little bit further, but yeah, that's still NorCal for sure. So >> the fact that you have all of that >> if I get all of Norcal, y'all are ████ How far is Tahoe? >> Literally an hour and a half. >> See, >> we got Carmel and Monterey Castle. >> Two of my favorite places. Santa Cruz, if you dig it. San Francisco's obviously got a bunch of stuff. Marin and then even more north. If you get into some Nerdville, like Star Wars movies and ████ we got the Redwoods. >> Damn, >> the Redwoods are beautiful. >> Keep building your case. I'm about to smoke you when I go to LA. >> Just Sacramento. Sacramento in particular. In particular, very

35 walkable. Like the downtown city. I lived in the city for about 5 years. Very walkable. downtown really got uh in a way like renovated over the past like 10 15 years. >> Yeah. Growing growing up as a kid, everyone would graduate high school and either obviously go to college, but the kids that didn't would move downtown cuz it was so cheap and kind of grungy. But then as an adult in my 20s, it got way like bunch of restaurants, the basketball stadium move downtown. So super walkable, bikable. Um one thing I love is it's obviously like a very basic grid, so it's really easy to get around. It's only like a one to two square miles the actual downtown. So you can literally go everywhere. Um >> cuz it's just all numbers and all letters. >> All numbers. All letters. Easy to find. And then like there's no I don't want to say no, but it's like 98% local food. Like there's no chain. >> Sick. >> So like every coffee shop you hop into, I think there's one Starbucks maybe.

25 There's not even a McDonald's. There's no drive-thrus. Like it's all just like local s████. Um which is dope. >> Close early though, right? >> Close a little early. I actually like that cuz it's the city the city's quieter. >> I want to eat my car actually. So >> like if you're in if you're in like LA proper, what the ████ are you doing? [laughter] >> You know what I mean? Like LA could win, but that's only when you take all of SoCal. You guys have to pull in like Anaheim. OC. >> I think Pasadena alone beats Sacramento. >> Pasadena's very nice. [laughter] Pasadena is >> But it's not it's it's like not fair cuz I think Pasadena is Pasadena >> and Pasadena is like the most like Sacramento. >> You know this place? >> Give me a second. Well, you don't know it. >> Well, so we have so many coffee shops. >> This is This This is apparently the most Instagrammable coffee shop in Sacramento. >> It's not the new It's not Scorpion. It's not Scorpion. >> It just says like, "What is it?" So

15 something >> Look up Scorpion. I want to see Scorpion, dude. >> Scorpion. >> Wait, wait, wait. Go, go, wait, wait, wait, wait. Go to the bottom right. That's my place. That's where I go. That's right by my house. >> No. Uh, >> top third. That one. That's the same place, right? >> Mansion Flats. >> Oh, this is off. This is nice. They have outlets to >> I go there every Saturday. >> That's a You might win. >> Do these work. >> You might win. >> Yeah. Yeah, those work. >> That's pretty nice, dude. >> What's the ways like the performance homeless people jacking off in your coffee shops? >> That's the issue. >> See, >> but I think LA does too. Yeah, same. >> That's just the California issue. >> Compare the homeless uh situation with Sacramento and LA. So that's the same thing as like what do you consider LA? Like if you consider downtown LA and like like LA County. >> Yeah. See, you can't go county. >> Yeah, cuz LA County wins. >> Yeah, LA County may win. Compare the Sacramento Arts District, like the downtown, with LA's downtown. >> I'd say similar homeless vibes.

06 >> Wow. Yeah. >> Ours might be more drugged out. >> More our homeless. So, I've I lived there cuz now I do live in Vegas, but I lived there downtown on the grid six, seven years. And uh I don't think I I always tell this story. I don't think I got asked for money one because they're too drugged out. >> So, kind of a >> You know what I mean? Kind of. Yeah. You're winning. You're winning. going to San Francisco cuz I remember going to San Franc as a kid. It was one of my favorite cities. And you get a guy like, "Hey man, you got a buck?" >> Yeah. >> But like now they don't even talk to you. They don't even look at you. >> They're just leaning. LA homeless feel like uh very active. >> LA homeless are like aggressive and they're always asking for money, right? But then NorCal homeless, you're right. They're schizophrenics. They're just talking to themselves and they're just having a good time. >> They're doing the fentanyl fold. Is that what's happening? >> Folding. Yeah. You see needles. You see

56 like them ████ Dude, my buddy's a security guard. Shout out to my boy Dan. He owns He's not even a security guard. He owns a giant security company. I don't want to underplay. He's killing it. Shout out to Dan. Uh he sent me a picture. He found two homeless people like ████ in a bush right in front of dude's house. >> What the hell? >> Just ████ in front of someone's house in a bush. >> They got love, man. >> You know where else? >> You know what's the uh what I what I notic is a good determinant of how bad the homeless is. Homelessness is in the area. If you go to one of their main Starbucks and if you have to ask for the key to use a restroom, that's a bad sign. Or if they have no public restroom, it's even worse. >> Cuz the ones [laughter] cuz if they go no public order. Yeah. It's like it's out of order. It's only for the employees. Good cities, you can just go straight back and it's always open and everyone can use it. >> Yeah. Cuz no one's ████ doing heroin in there. >> Yeah. That's just some like California ████ that other I swear if you go to like talk to some dude in Kansas, he

46 doesn't even think about like our deodorants locked behind a glass cage. >> What kind of meth are you making with deodorant? Our bathrooms are always locked. You can't ever ████ use them. Like like it's so ████ Let's compare like um the men's mental health in Sacramento versus LA. Do you have more depressed friends in LA or Sacramento? >> Interesting. So, I'm pretty lucky. I like to think a lot of my real friends are are very positive, hardworking folks, so they'll find a way. Um but I have seen in Bart, you even I think you used to send it to me. You don't have those lists like five ugliest dating cities and like ugliest women. SACRAMENTO'S ALWAYS ON THAT LIST, >> BRO. [screaming] >> WHAT? [laughter] like bad drivers or like like high accident ████ there. An intersection. >> Sacramento just ugly. Hey, man. What side are you on, bro? >> Sacramento has uglier women. >> That's what they say. But if you go to like a farmers market, there's pretty

37 chicks. But there there's also a intersection kind of close to my childhood home that was on like the top 10 like most murderous intersections. >> People are always like t-boning each other and ████ and dying. >> You know what I noticed when >> I know there's a lot of bad too. >> Sacramento is diverse, right? But the funny thing is to me it's like the diversity of Walmart. So like you got the most ghettoest ████ of each race coming together to build Sacramento. >> The ghetto white ghetto Asian ghetto [laughter] everything. >> It is one of the most diverse cities like in the nation like by stats which is cool. I think even C Williams shouted us out because of that where he said early in his career he moved to different cities to try to make everybody laugh. He's like oh it's making black people laugh but how can I make like everybody laugh? to go to Sacramento to hit different crews. >> Oh, >> different ethnicities. >> Do you feel like people are generally happier in Sacramento like or LA?

29 >> That's a hard one. I'd probably say Sacramento because again if we're going outstretched like full some Roseville, some of our suburbs are really nice and it seems like very homey and cozy still. Um, how about night life? >> Probably LA, but then same thing like you got to go to Hollywood and ████ Like LA, I don't know. But yeah, if you go to Hollywood and all that, yeah, for sure. I think a better marker of who's really depressed is how good is the customer service that you go into cuz LA I feel like everyone is like bummed out >> sack too >> when you buy little things are there small talk >> I think it depends if you go to coffee shops downtown yeah most regular spots yeah you get like the Walmart greeter they're pissed they're they're hating life um I was thinking one more thing that sack yeah you got oh uh dive bars I bet you we got you like the culture of our cool little hipster dive bars is tight

19 It's really tight. Little music venues, ████ like that. Obviously, LA has like the famous as ones. >> They're dive bar presenting. >> No, ours are No, ours are legit. Like, you're going to talk to a Hell's Angel guy in there, you know? >> That's cool. >> Yeah, we have some cool ████ like that. I'd say for sure, um, one thing I'd say we would probably win, again, you have to cut out like the Malibu and ████ but like normal cool houses. Um, I think Bart even mentioned one time he visited, but you never went to like my childhood suburb where you'll get like a really nice house, but it's like 500K right next to like a $5 million really cool house like and everyone's kind of living together. >> Like very Victorian. >> It's very Pasadena. That's why I said Pasadena is probably like the most like us. >> Yeah, there's some cool ████ that's probably like on the river. It's probably on that river. You go down that river in certain areas, you see houses overlooking, they're really tight. >> A house on the river be like uh a house like this. So, a good example, uh,

09 Dearan Fox, point guard for the Kings, just got traded the Spurs. I saw an article where his house was getting, uh, sold. I don't want to like I guess I could dox myself cuz I don't live there anymore. It was right next to my childhood home. I lived on the other side of the river where it got like a little, but you go on the river side, it's all millions. And his was like 3.5. >> Wow. >> Like expensive, but not insane. And it's on the river. And it kind of looked like something like that. Like hella nice. Buy a golf course. Yeah. Shout out to Carichel cuz I don't live there anymore. We could dox it. >> Is [snorts] crime still a problem like comparatively with LA in Sacramento? >> I I bet if you look at pure data, LA, you probably win in the bad crime just cuz there's so many people, but it felt the same. It felt the same to me. >> You guys get like takeovers and stuff. You know, LA has those takeovers. >> Yeah. Not as much. >> Takeovers are pretty sick though, >> cuz there's just less I I kind of I've seen live streams of them. I think they're cool, too. I think we just have

59 less less people, so less ████ like that. >> You know what I mean? >> Uh, okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. If I had to choose, for sure, if I don't get to get into a Malibu or a Pasadena, I'm still choosing Sacramento cuz you can go to our nice ass suburbs still, Roseville, Folsome, Rockland, and you can get a house for like 400. >> No way. >> Yeah. >> I don't want to be around poor people then. >> No, because you're right next to a million. [laughter] >> But it's all clean. Schools are really good, you know? Like all the ratings of like what a nice city is, they win. Crime low, blah blah blah blah blah. Where like Yeah, you have to do Right. Or am I generalizing LA too much? I feel like you got to go to a Pasadena or Malibu to live like that suburb life. >> Pasadena, your schools aren't that great. >> Yeah. See, Rockland Roseville >> What the Yeah, idiot. >> Look it up. >> He's like, >> "Yeah, look at his brain." I graduated from that school system, sir. >> Look it up. Look up past High School. >> Go Pastina High School. >> Past High School. Yeah. Look up the

50 ████ the >> How many pro athletes came out of that ████ hole? >> You know what? >> Above average compared to public and charter schools. >> Average. Thank you very much. >> But you know what though? The problem with Pasadena is that all the the the smart kids, >> they go to private, right? >> Yeah, >> exactly. That's >> every city mostly. >> For a good school in Pasadena, you have to go to private. >> Oh, yeah. See, I'm pretty sure like Fullsome High, one, they got quarterbacks in the NFL left and right. Two, I think the schooling is actually good. And yeah, you can find like a condo for Yeah, probably 300k. >> Our rival high school had a bunch of football players coming out of there. >> But why would you want to give your kids a hard time and put them in a hard school? They could go to a easy school, dominate the ████ out of them, dude. >> I've literally been right there, bro. I know exactly where that is. Really? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's part of our main path. You'd go from Sunrise Bridge down to the Watt Bridge. You might have even done that, Joe. Who knows where you took off? >> Nature-wise, dude. Norcalow just smokes

40 out. >> Like Big Bear, but it's a ████ to get to. >> Big Bear is whack compared to the rest of NorCal. >> Bro, I love the redwoods and I love Lake Tahoe. I'm getting a cabin. Southern California nature is like it still feels like you're in a suburb because it's so overcrowded. You go to Arrowhead, Big Bear, you just see a ████ ton of ████ cabins everywhere and you're like, "This is no different. I want to be in a forest where there's no houses around me." >> The redwoods up there and and Lake Tahoe. >> I think it's unbeatable. If you like nature and it's got like the whole seasons cuz I even saw a map like some ████ on Instagram. It's like uh chances of uh white Christmas or whatever, you know, and it colored uh all of California like no chance. I'm like, dude, that's so ignorant. Like we have like the biggest mountains ever, like you know, like Lake Taho is beautiful in the winter. We used to spend New Year's up there. Same thing. You look out and all you see is trees.

30 It's so ████ >> That's what's cool about California though. You could like drive to get your Christmas literally an hour away so you don't have to ████ shovel snow. You know what I mean? >> Sack, they do that all the time. You'll literally go to the mountains 45 minutes away and chop down your tree. >> Sick. cheese from the >> No, I think you're allowed to. >> I think you're allowed to. I don't know. I've never done it. >> All right, let us know in the comments if you think Sacramento wins or LA wins. >> Norcal, folks, come on, man. We have Mac Dre. >> Oh, come on. We got We got Snoop Dogg. [laughter] >> Snoop Dog. >> We got Mac 10.
