00 Last Wednesday, Tennessee gave a woman two lethal injections and she did not die. Six days on life support. Monday night, her own lawyers were told she was brain dead and they'd pull the plug Tuesday, but Tuesday morning, she wakes up and asks where she is. So, >> You can't kill her? Did they Did Should they ████ with her and say heaven? >> [laughter] >> You're in heaven. You did it. >> that's crazy. >> protected by, right? >> Who? >> God? >> Who runs the world? >> Girls. >> No way. >> I'm just kidding. No, God. >> Oh. Let me ask [laughter] you, what? >> Jesus. >> Yeah. >> I was like, how did they do something like that? >> is pretty hardcore, right? So, you must have had done some ████ up, but she's a girl that did something really ████ up cuz girls don't get the death penalty very often. >> Okay, so her name is Christa Pike. She's
51 now 50. She's only woman on Tennessee's death row for 30 plus years because back in 1995 at age 18, she killed a 19-year-old classmate, Colleen Slemmer, and she was It was basically over jealousy over another dude. >> Let her go. That's punishment's too harsh. Is she Is she white? >> Sounds like it. >> Cuz that's some girl ████ Girls always be getting jealous. >> What the ████ Steve? >> What do What do I What do I do? >> Get your people in line, bro. >> Yeah, dude. >> [laughter] >> I'll I'll talk to her. >> I mean, okay. I think it's important to at least like remember the context of the crime though because like it's really easy to to like have the question like, okay, she survived the death penalty, do you give it to her again? It might be easier to have the argument, but then we got to at least remember why she was on >> Okay, so what's it like Is it like graphic murder? >> So, so Pike, 18 years old, Colleen Slemmer, 19 years old, uh were students
41 at the Knoxville Job Corps uh Center. It's a federal job training program, all right? The motive was jealousy. Pike believed Slemmer was after her boyfriend, Taderral Ship, age 17. She told police she was jealous. Pike lured Slemmer to a remote spot on the University of Tennessee agricultural campus near Tyson Park and Ship took part of it. Another person, Shedolla Peterson, was just a lookout age 18 as well. Slemmer was tortured for close to an hour with a box cutter. A pentagram was carved into her chest. >> Ooh. >> Pike killed her by crushing her skull with a piece of asphalt and then Pike kept a piece of Slemmer's skull and showed it off to other job core students boasting. >> Woah, what a psycho, dude. >> is a little too far. >> She made a sacrifice to the devil. Why don't they kill her 30 years ago? >> Dude, the justice system's whack.
32 >> That's crazy. >> Because the paperwork takes a long time. >> In '96, she's sentenced to death at age 20, the youngest woman sentenced to death in the modern era. All the accomplices have different versions of blah blah blah. We're not going to worry about them. Okay, in prison though, here's the thing, to answer your question. August 24th, 2001, she attacked an inmate, Patricia Jones, during a fire evacuation, tried to strangle her with a shoestring, and was convicted of attempted first-degree murder in 2004, which added 25 years. >> Well, if you're getting a death sentence and then you add years, what How does that work? >> What is the point? What are they going to do? Put me in double jail? >> 2012, escape plot foiled. A New Jersey pen pal, Donald Kohut, of 7 years, and a corrections officer there, Justin Heflin, was fired because And Pike wasn't charged for it, but there was an escape plan that got caught. Then she gets diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD on death row 30-plus years, blah blah blah. Okay, so that's
22 the context of who she is, why >> She's the one creating PTSD. >> That's what I'm saying. >> PTSD. What the ████ [laughter] She's giving other people PTSD. >> She's a PTSD router. >> Yeah, what the hell? >> For detail's sake, are you interested in the clemency petition? >> What the hell is that? >> Okay, that's her side of the story, basically. >> ████ no, dude. >> I'm curious, actually. >> [laughter] >> Lawyers say she was sexually abused starting around age 2. >> I don't give a ████ bro. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Anthony >> Here we go. >> Okay, okay, all right. >> No, no, no, let's hear it. Let's hear it. >> we'll skip She was graped at age 11 and 17, blah blah blah. >> Oh, so she should get to kill whoever she wants. My bad. >> Yeah, ████ Steve's not doing that ████ >> Thank you. Thank you. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, as a molested? >> It's true. It's true. >> He's not doing it to others that we know of. >> Wait, also wait, we got to think about it. The problem at age 18, you're over
12 here carving designs on people's chest. >> [laughter] >> That's ████ mental, man. >> And then carrying a piece of the skull around to show off? >> Like whose ████ skull I got? You know, like that's crazy. >> then if you were the guy in the middle and she really really wanted you that bad, wouldn't you kind of low-key be like damn, man, she really likes me. >> [laughter] >> At the age of 18, probably. >> Yeah. >> He helped. >> Oh, he helped? >> Yeah. >> He's an accomplice. He's an accomplice. >> Yeah. >> I didn't hear that part. >> also be scared. Like the one time we don't eat what you want to eat, is he she going to decapitate me or something? >> Wait, but why would he help if he liked that girl, too? >> You're add I think you're adding unnecessary >> You said it was jealousy. >> Yeah, it's not like he has to like the other girl for it to be jealousy. She could just be jealous of the other girl for liking her boyfriend.
02 >> No, she's just So, this is my Okay, so she's his girlfriend and then this girl likes him and she's jealous of the other girl. Like, what the ████ He could just be like, ████ shut the ████ up. This girl's nothing to me. >> Yeah, but ████ trip, though. They're like, why does she look at you that way? >> No, all he had to do is say, ████ ████ shut up. That's all he had to >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. >> That's all he had to say. That's all he had >> But she is kind of scary, huh? >> ████ be tripping for no reason. Is that the story, though? He's the guy that's just chilling and that girl likes him? >> No, you're just adding a bunch of unnecessary things. I'm just saying he's an accomplice. We should just leave it at that. >> Cuz we're talking Well, that tickles my curiosity brain, [laughter] okay? >> Yeah, at 2:30 p.m. he was just chilling and then at 2:35 ████ was tripping. >> ████ be tripping anyways. >> They do it. >> I agree. >> Okay, so hours before the execution US Supreme Court lifts a lower court
53 stay. Basically, they were saying that her veins already made lethal injection risky hours before. Okay? Wednesday, September 30th 8:00 p.m. Staff spend about an hour placing the IV. >> What? >> Pike cooperated and helped find a vein. >> Wait, she fat as ████ or what? >> Lawyers say at least seven needles, two full doses of pentobarbital. >> Oh my god. >> Jesus, got interns in there? >> I guarantee you she was just whoever's trying to put the ████ IV in was just ████ blind, you know what I mean? She was just old probably. Old ass lady just doesn't know where to hit. >> It was a dude, but yeah. >> Okay. Seven needles is crazy. >> Yeah. >> She keep afterwards she keeps breathing, snores, and then talks, and says her arm hurts. Witnesses removed at 8:53 p.m. while she's still snoring. Doctors told NBC most of the drug went into her arm, not her bloodstream.
44 >> Cuz she fat. >> Enough to sedate, not kill. >> You got to use ████ walrus medicine or something. >> Walrus medicine? >> Yeah, cuz if it's going into the arm and it ain't working, you don't got to find a vein on a walrus. You just go and then it's oh. >> It's supposed to go into the bloodstream though and they apparently they missed. >> [cough and clears throat] >> You know what it is? If she was sentenced to two death sentences and she ████ survived two lethal injections, I think she's free to go. >> 200 years ago, that's what everyone would have said, right? It's like, "Wow, ████ I mean, I guess God wants her to live." >> Yeah, holy intervention. >> [laughter] >> And the accent fits cuz she's from Tennessee. >> Okay, but we're not in 200 years ago. So, what if you were judge and jury right now? >> Pull the plug. >> But they did and she still survived that, didn't she? >> Yeah, she's like fine. >> She's unkillable. They're going to pull the plug [laughter] on Tuesday and then she woke up.
34 >> Yeah, so when they pulled the plug, they was all >> So, you got to do a saw table. >> I'm [laughter] good. A saw table? Please. Don't kill me. I'm >> watching her back. She sacrificed and did a pentagram thing. Now she's invincible. >> What if that just makes two of her though? >> [laughter] >> You cut this way and then she sits up. Two of them sit up. >> Elijah. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Jesus, dude. >> Wait, so is that's the moral dilemma now, right? If she survived three things, do you just keep trying to kill her ass or you're like, "F███ it, dude." >> moral of the story. >> Or you just go you just go real old school. You just grab a you just grab a bat and just donk. >> [laughter] >> Invincible. It's going to she's going to bounce it. >> with an American flag pattern? >> It's going to bounce off. >> You hit her with the bat and then it it reverberates. >> [clears throat and cough] >> Or hey hey or one of these. Donk donk.
25 You die. Oh, I'm so [laughter] sorry. Donk donk. YOU DIE. >> YEAH, CUZ justice is justice, right? >> Mhm. >> If you need to serve justice, you got to just keep serving until it's served. >> [laughter] >> It's like a Looney Tunes cartoon. >> So it's got to happen. >> That's considered torture now. >> [snorts] >> Do you guys remember that >> behalf. >> Do you remember that super old school kids book about like the the six Chinese brothers that >> Yeah. >> You remember that ████ >> Yeah, that sounds so familiar. >> So so it's like one >> They had a sentence to death. >> It's like one guy gets sentenced to death or whatever, but then he has like six twin brothers and all of them have some random miraculous ability like an iron neck. So when they try to behead him for some reason he can't die. So he's just replaced with his other brother. They're like, "Let's drown him." But this brother randomly can swallow the ocean or some ████ like that. >> Or has long legs or some ████ Yeah.
15 >> Yeah, so it's just this like impossible to kill this one random Chinese guy, but they keep going at it cuz they're like they got to serve justice. >> Yeah. >> Is that where you're still at? You're like, "We got to kill this ████ till the end." >> just study her. >> I keep going why we finding these ████ fancy ways of doing it? Just put her in the ████ junkyard car press thing. >> God damn. >> Like we keep doing it all we >> That sounds fancy as ████ >> That's what they did to Shredder. >> Yeah, like we go >> He came back. >> Somebody should go, "Oops." >> [laughter] >> Like we're trying to like, "Oh, we couldn't find a vein." Like you don't need a vein if you have a saw table. >> Yeah, they just try to keep them alive. >> a steel mill cuz it cuz that's the only thing that destroyed T-1000. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah, like some hot lava ████ >> Lava. >> But then [snorts] we we outsource manufacturing now, so we don't have that anymore. >> I just feel like the Suban's other point
05 bullets are probably cheaper, right? Like I feel like that's Isn't that your backup like if if you're the doctor and you couldn't find the vein, is it just like, "Oh, man." >> Boom. >> Yeah. >> But we don't Well, we don't do that anymore because we don't like cruel and unusual punishments. >> Cool? >> Yeah, it's cruel and unusual. >> What's the thing the cattle thing that the guy from No Country for Old Men uses? >> Oh, yeah. >> That's just like >> Oh, yeah, yeah. >> Or like it's right into their like uh >> Yeah, why don't we use that ████ I think because uh I think we did firing squad because people did it they like we're sharing the ████ guilt to like the sin or whatever. If it's one person doing it, I think they go >> find one guy who likes doing this though. >> Like that Like the executioner. Like the Like the guillotine guy, huh? >> Right. That's We need We need those guys. >> my buddy used to work target security cuz he [clears throat] would he would
55 he'd be like, "Oh, yeah, I totally do it. I ████ do it." >> [laughter] >> I'm ready to go. You don't even need to pay me. Is everybody on the same page? Like just kill her again? >> No. >> She already did her time. >> I think you got to let her go. >> I think we can let her go. >> You got to let her go. >> I think I wish there was some kind of >> two times. >> I think she escaped death one time with two injections. >> Well, I would say that's two THAT'S LIKE GETTING SHOT TWICE. >> SAY THE second time is they pull the plug. >> Yeah, waking up right before the plug? Damn, that's kind of >> Cuz you know You know what I equate it to? I equate it to this. Let's say someone owes you money, right? Owes you 100 grand and they go, "I tried wiring it twice. I don't have to wire it to you anymore." >> [laughter] >> YOU YOU TO KEEP WIRING UNTIL YOU RECEIVE IT. You got to keep wiring until you receive it. >> Uh you know what? >> Right? I tried to Venmo you. I tried It's not going through. I'm like, "No, dude, you got to serve it." >> this? What about if they actually were clinically dead cuz this happened
45 before? People they're they they they're pronounced dead, right? Heart stops, brain stops, everything. >> Yeah. >> And then they go And then they come back to life, right? But they were technically dead for 10 minutes. >> It needs to be ashes. I need to see ashes. >> What about [laughter] this? What about this? >> back from ashes? >> I'm like, "F███, this guy's crazy." >> this? Your bank account reads zero. One day you wake up, 100 grand wired in. Do you get to keep it? >> Uh yeah, what the hell? It's in your >> Do you get to keep It came in your account. Miraculously bounced into your account. >> I think you get to keep it. >> lethally just injected me for no reason? >> Somebody accidentally, you know, tried to send tried to send money somewhere else, it went to you. I think you get to keep it. >> I think so. >> So I think this is like if she got the 100 grand. >> But legally you have to give it back, don't you? >> Yeah. >> Do. >> Yeah, but I I hate that part. >> [laughter] >> Or once you receive it >> That's cuz there's wire like trace. If someone dropped 100 grand cash
37 >> There you go. >> That's different. >> don't think the 100 grand analogy works farther than he already did it. Like that I think that's it. I think we press on it, it doesn't work. >> we should make it happen again. >> Okay, so if you find a lethal injection on the floor, do you get to keep it? >> Yeah. >> They should really make it tier system where like if you get sentenced to lethal injection, there's like another layer if that doesn't work, then you get this one. So you better hope this works. >> Yeah. >> Or like burned alive. >> But if she is actually fat and then you try to do a hanging and she breaks the rope she escaped death again. >> [laughter] >> That's three times. >> But then she should fall into a lake of crocodiles. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, if you break the rope there's just spikes at the bottom. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, spikes >> Guaranteed. >> Like like a Mortal Kombat pit. >> Why don't they Okay, I know a non-cruel and cruel intention. >> Saw table? >> No. This one and there's no guilt.
28 >> Skydive. >> No. Giant magnifying glass. You put her in the center. And then when the sun comes over, it starts ████ frying her fat ass. >> You realize that while the sun's coming over, it's burning a ████ ton of other things. >> Well, you keep >> Like, why did we put it in a neighborhood? >> No, you keep it in the ████ baseball field or something. And it goes >> [laughter] >> And it starts a fire. >> That budget's going to be crazy. >> Too expensive. >> That [laughter] one's That one's guilt-free. >> Yeah, who came up with the lethal injection? That's so stupid. >> I mean, I guess that's a way of being humane. >> But they even They've even done studies where they say it actually hurts during. >> Well, yeah, it's probably going to hurt. >> probably the needle part hurts. >> Right, so it's like it's all going to hurt. >> Yeah, just ████ saw table. >> Yeah. >> Or yeah, leave them in a room with the ████ gun with one bullet. >> That's [laughter] good. Dude, play like
18 Teletubbies, leave them in a room with a gun with one bullet, and just let make them watch it >> And then if if they shoot into the wall, they're like, "I'm not doing it." Just >> slip one more bullet >> No, no, they just leave it in there for 20 days. So, if they don't shoot themselves, they're just going to die. Fully cement jail room. >> What's the easiest way to kill somebody? Like a shot to the head. Why can't that just be done? They do it to cows, right? >> Yeah, all you got to do is have the freaking warden back his car up into the room she's in and just run the engine. >> Oh my god. >> Just monoxide. >> Actually, that's that's so easy, yeah. >> But then gassing is painful and and un- >> But the gas price is so expensive now. >> [laughter] >> Dude, the warden has a Tesla, too, by the way. >> Yeah, but if a bunch of gas showed up in your bank account? >> [laughter]
// end of tape
