00 Who the ████ do you think you guys are? That the Holy Spirit chose you. You suck dick in the parking lot. I know you Tina Park. >> But also, the Bible says nothing about sucking dick about getting your dick sucked either, okay? >> Welcome back to another episode of Careful Boys. We have Tim and David with us today. >> Hey. >> Bing ling dow. >> I thought this would be an interesting question, especially since you guys are here. A lot of people don't really know the difference between um >> Gay and straight? >> Like well, yeah. We're still learning you here at JK as well. Uh but churches, like Christian churches, what is so different in a Christian church that's Asian? Like if it's a Korean Christian church or a Thai Christian church or >> Culture comes before Christ, always. Always. It's always Korean culture first, and then God comes like fourth.

52 >> So it's like fourth? >> It's Korean culture, then like lunch, then kimchi, and then it's ████ God after, dude. >> What kind of um denomination did you grow up in? >> We I went to a Presbyterian church, but then my dad opened up a non-denomination church after. >> Most Korean ones are Presbyterian, though. >> Uh this Pre- Presbyterian and Baptist is pretty big. >> Well, let me ask you this, bro. What what So, what's the difference between Presbyterian and like Protestant? >> I don't know. >> They're all Protestant. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Oh, because Protestant is just not Catholic, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay, so what do Presbyterians do that's >> Every denomination has a way that the organization does things, right? So, they'll have deacons who control like the money and who brings in the pastors. So, each denomination has a different way the church runs. >> Interesting. >> Some are dictatorship, like Joel Osteen, and some have an organization and a committee. >> Yeah, and like a democracy where they vote on things.

42 >> And what's the difference between Presbyterian and Pilgrims? >> One? >> They're all going to hell, bro. >> And what's the difference between Pilgrims and Pillsbury? >> Anything with the P. >> And what's the difference between Pillsbury and blueberry? >> And then what do you guys do with the ball? >> And boo them boo them boo them boo them all the other blobs. >> Man, I miss doing Bill Cosby. >> So, you know the junior high we went to. We went to a Christian school. >> Yeah, shout out to Gardena Valley Christian School. >> Which one is that one? >> I think it's Calvary, and they've been tied to the CIA being in control of that church specifically. Yeah. It's called Calvary >> Calvary Chapel? >> Calvary Chapel, yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Huge >> church. >> Yeah. >> Calvary >> Yeah. >> They were our biggest basketball rivals. Cal- Calvary Calvary Chapel Downey and

32 Gardena Valley Christian School. They were >> Yeah, Downey's the yeah. >> Um >> I think they were Calvary >> Calvary? >> St- Yeah, Christian >> See, I don't know, man. All I know is we went to Gardena Valley Christian School, the one across the street from Gardena High. Um and um that's where that's where me and Joe uh kind of I was in the I don't know, you were like two grades older than me, but yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And um I like I couldn't speak on Thai >> Christian churches cuz I My parents are Buddhist. But they sent me to a Christian school just cuz it was like the only like private school option. >> to, huh? >> Yeah, yeah. And then, I kind of ended up just like, you know, >> You didn't become hardcore Christian for a little bit? >> I did for a little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Plus he did he was like, devil baby. >> Cuz of school and and for like and because I wanted to. In junior high, I was pretty heavily into it. Like, I chose to be baptized. Like, I told my my

23 youth pastor, I was like, "Hey, man, can you can you baptize me?" Cuz I've never been baptized. They baptized me in the pool. All by choice, you know what I'm saying? I was pretty into it. Um to the point where he was looking at me to be a potential like youth pastor. >> Woah. >> Cuz like I was, you know, I was cool. And the kids looked up to me, whatever. And um and he could tell I was really like committed to the church. I was like, >> to the church. He was an influencer. >> I think I was just I was just a >> Oh, the first church influencer, dude. >> Just doing Christian raps. >> Jesus Christ is my >> Remember that one? >> You know the words. You say it, not me. >> Yeah, but I got I got pretty into it for a while. And then um it really wasn't until I I started questioning the church more when um I went to a Catholic high school for a year cuz I'd never been to a Catholic church before. And this is

15 we've talked about this before on dudes, but like it was a Filet-O-Fish that made me question question religion. >> How can something be so delicious? >> How There's no way that man made this. No, no, no. I was I was literally It was like cuz I used to order Filet-O-Fishes all the time, right? My mom put me on, you know, Asian people love Filet-O-Fishes. Delicious. It is. It's great. And then, you know, cuz and y'all know the history of the Filet-O-Fish, right? >> No. >> It It came about because when >> Oh, Lent? >> in Lent when they weren't eating beef, McDonald's like, "We're losing money." So, they're like, "We need to come up with a sandwich." So, they tried a pineapple burger and like a Filet-O-Fish. And then the Filet-O-Fish won. Yeah, it was like a little a pineapple and like sauce and just >> Why did they think that was going to ever work? >> Uh, it's gross. >> So, Filet-O-Fish popped off. And then I started And then I started thinking about that, right? Like, "Okay, so I'm going to school with all these Catholics who

05 for because of their religion, they're not eating beef right now. And I'm chilling. I'm good. I'm eating beef. And my religion, my Christian church that I went to, they're telling me like essentially God don't give a ████ if I'm eating beef right now. No one ever told me not to eat beef on Lent, you know what I'm saying? So, I'm like, "How are we praying to the same God, talking to the same God, reading the same Bible, but then they can't eat a beef hamburger?" >> No Slim Jims for you guys. >> So, that made me think about how man made all the rules and regulations and all the stipulations. And I'm like, "Okay, now that's just silly, you know what I'm saying?" So, that's where I kind of evolved to just be like, "All right, me and God are going to talk. I'm not really worried about the the religion." >> The Filet-O-Fish ruined religion for you? That's the title of the ████ video, bro. >> High key, man. High key. It just kind of just made me question stuff, like a lot.

56 You know, I was already kind of questioning stuff. >> Yeah. >> But, um but that was the kind of the jumping point. I was like, "Mhm, that don't make sense." >> So, you So, from then you just kind of were like independent spirituality. You didn't go to hardcore Buddhism or nothing? >> Nah, nah. I was still like I felt like I feel like I I I would be at church. I felt God's presence. I felt the church. I felt like I had a a real relationship with God, but as far as titles and the and all the really intricate rules and all that ████ I was like, "Ah, maybe maybe I'm You know, there's there's no way I'mma be in hell for eating a a Whopper with a dude that like murdered his auntie." You know what I'm saying? It just wasn't making sense. Then what is Then it was like, "What is the point?" You know? >> Dude, that'd be so wild. All right, I'm I'm ████ I'm I'm I'm God, dude. All right, you just died and you appear and I see you. Oh. >> Man, what is >> Oh, Mr. Filet-O-Fish boy here, huh?

46 All it took was one sandwich for you to stop believing in me. Is that all it took? Now, go lie with the rapists. >> There's There's There's a South Park sketch. This is what also made me think. There's a South Park not sketch, but there's a South Park episode where they're all in hell, a bunch of people in hell, and the guy the guy organizing, he's like, "All right, all Catholics over here, rapists over here. Just make a straight line, please." And everyone's like, "Dude, what the Who got it right?" And the guy's like, "The Mormons." And they're like, "Oh, man." >> They're doing pretty good. And this all it's all interesting, right? Like, I don't think like if Lent is more of an idea, from what I remember, it's more of giving sacrifice the way that, you know, God sacrifices for you, right? So, there's no If you don't do Lent, it's not like you go to hell. It is a is a ritualistic part of Catholicism, right? Catholicism Catholics are very ritualistic. There's a lot of rituals

37 with it. I feel like Christians are like more like the rockstar version of that, right? They'll have like Christian rock and ████ like that, which was a huge debate in the Christian community when I was younger. It's like, are you worshipping the devil? >> on the line, yeah. >> It's close. A lot of young pastors would fight back and they would start using scripture like they listen to loud musics and drums when they worship God. What the ████ are you talking about? So, a lot of like caveats in between like religion and Christianity. The book is up for interpretation. It's just who's going to read it and how do you interpret it, right? >> You know, you know what I heard the real reason of Lent was? It was um So, you know like the Vatican just basically it's basically a government, right? >> So, >> Yeah, it has its own currency. >> Yeah, so they were they were dealing with like kind of famine in certain places. And then they're like, "What are we going to do? Like, we're going to run out of meat." Or like whatever. So, then they're like, "There's hell of fish. Why don't we just

28 have people eat fish?" And then so it's like >> Nobody wants to eat fish. >> Just make it Just make it a part of Lent. >> Everybody hates fish. >> So, like a lot of Catholics are going to ████ hate me and be like, "That's not true. That's the conspiracy that I read about." Medieval conspiracy of why they started it, the real reason, which makes more sense to me as an outsider. It makes more sense that like, "Oh ████ what are we going to do? We're going to run out of pork. We can't have the ████ McRib every day. So, let's just have it seasonal, you know?" Like, that makes more sense. >> For it like what you said about interpreting the Bible, is there a way that Korean churches interpret the Bible that's very specific to Koreans? >> Korean Jesus is better than every other Jesus. >> Aokiji, he's all right. >> Steven >> Aokiji is a number one. >> Japanese dude. >> No, I'll tell you about interpretation. This was in in my school. Um

19 they showed two separate videos and this wasn't even on purpose. This is me remembering these different videos. Um they showed two video uh like reenactments of one specific part in the Bible where Jesus is is preaching to a bunch of people and he's saying the the the verse is like, um how dare you point out like the the splinter in my eye when you have like a wood plank in your own eye, right? So, there's one video I saw where Jesus is yell- he's pissed. He's like, "How can you How can you point at the splinter in your neighbor's eye when you have a plank in your own eye, right?" And it's like >> battle rap battling somebody. And it's And it's Lin-Manuel Miranda, dude. >> But don't go take my ████ >> And then there's another video where Jesus is like He's like a stand-up comedian. He's like, "Really? You're going to point at the the the splinter in my eye when you have

11 a plank in your own eye?" And everyone's laughing. And they're like, "You're right. You're right, Jesus." So, it's like that was another thing where I'm like, "Oh, interpretation is like so much of it, you know?" >> Yeah. >> And because it can be like when you read the Bible, there's like two different sects or there's like really good like hardcore Christian fundamentalists where they read it verbatim as if it's real. Other people see it as symbolic. Like these are stories and parables to teach you life lessons. And there's the other half like, "No, this is >> It's literal word for word, yeah. >> Like What What's the original language? Not Aramaic, right? But yeah, Aramaic, right? So, these are translations that we're all reading, right? One of the cool things about the Bible that I found out that a majority of this stuff that that has been translated is pretty much true to what it is, right? Which is actually kind of shocking. Not 100% >> It's accurately translated. >> Yeah, not 100%, but a lot of it is, right? So, the the the issue and the caveat that I had with religion was that when I would speak to people about the

01 Bible or Christ or whatever, none of them read the Bible. And like the weird thing about the Bible is this, is right? How can you say that this person who is this not person, this divinity, this God that you believe Okay, I'll put it to you like this. David Blaine comes up. He He puts a pigeon out of his ass. And everybody's like, "Wow, that's ████ amazing." I tell you that this book is a manuscript from the man who created you. And you go, "Bah." Do you know what I mean? That makes zero sense to me. Like the idea of a omnipotent being knows everything about you that creates everything, and none of you care. So, all of you can go to hell. Every single one of you. And so, every one of these people would preach to me about God, but they would never talk about scripture. They would never read this Bible. So, it's like you actually don't believe in God. You like the community. You can get community anywhere. So, what do you believe in? So, like a lot of the times you would challenge these pastors or people like your Bible study teachers and it's like

52 I asked them, "How come you don't read the Bible?" It's like, "Well, this is the community." I can get that ████ anywhere, ████ I'd join a gang. Yeah, I'd join a gang, dude. What's up, cut? You know what I mean? Jesus Christ, cut. But, >> the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus. >> People would hide behind the authority of like God and their like place, but then like they actually aren't quoting anything. They're just adding their own bias. That's what I hated the most. Where it's like, oh, you know, God talked to me the other day. And it has nothing to do with the Bible or anything, but they swear that Jesus told them specifically. So, I'm like, "Oh, so you're a prophet now?" Like, "No, I'm not. I just had a message real quick." I could do that. Well, God told me the other day something else. >> Let me tell you a funny ass ████ story, right? So, Muriel told me this story. So, you know, a lot of Korean churches would do this ████ where they would have these things called Kuyong Ebes, where it's like Bible study meetups. And then for some ████ reason, every

42 Korean kid can attest to this. Like if you had one at your home, you would get all like the church homies that would come together. These are like the adults. They would all sit and they would pray in tongue. So, for people out there who don't know what tongue is, is when you're the Holy Spirit comes into you and you start speaking prophetically about things. You don't know what language you're speaking, but the Holy Spirit takes over you. My mom would do this. ████ This woman, I saw her, kid you not, she went like this. I was like >> Checking if anyone's looking. >> Yeah, I was like, "You ████ liar. You don't know what the ████ you're doing." This ████ over here like bust a rhymes. Like, "Nonsense." And then Muriel had this story, too, where her mom, they were in the the together. Her mom was like telling her, you've been anointed by God. I know you can speak tongues." And then Mary was like, "No, I can't." And Mary's mom

33 goes, "I'll give you $100." She goes, Yo, ████ my wife just starts going "Hallelujah!" She got paid to praise the Lord. >> Bro, that's so funny. >> $100. >> Yeah, $100 to pretend to pray in tongues. >> Bro. >> Doug, I I was at I was at youth camp one time and I thought we were all just praying getting prayed for and you know, they had done like a you know, it's called an altar call where it's like, "Oh, if you You know what's up." And they'll call you down and everyone prays and for whatever reason. >> A very dramatic moment. >> It's very dramatic moment. And you know, sometimes you know, it's nice. >> Like a breakthrough for that person. >> and stuff, you know? So, I'm praying and this dude, this older older kid, I guess he was like kind of like a youth leader in his in his group. He's like just encouraging. He's like, he's like, "Just keep going. Just keep Whatever's on your heart. Just keep praying. Just keep praying." And he keeps telling me to pray more, pray harder. I'm like, "Okay,

23 I'm just saying whatever comes to my mind." So, the point where I'm not not even really saying words, right? So, he's like, "Yes, yes, right?" And Pastor Dan, my my pastor walks up and he's listening. He's like, "Tim, you know they're trying to get you to speak tongues right now, right?" And I was like, "Oh, really?" >> Uh-huh. >> And I had no idea. And then everyone just kind of stopped. They thought they were getting me to speak in tongues and I'm like, "Oh, I thought y'all was just praying." And then so Pastor Dan is like, "Hey guys, so like, you know, this is great what you're doing, but maybe you should probably communicate that better before, you know, you're forcing someone to" And I was like, And I was like, "Oh, okay. Well, thanks, guys." >> So, you guys had a time out You had a a time out in the middle of praying to talk about all that stuff? >> No, Pastor Dan was just Pastor Dan like he saw what was happening. And he was like he was listening. He's like, "Tim, you know what's going on?" I was like, "I guess not." You know what I'm saying? So, he told the other the older kid and the older kid was like, "Oh, damn." >> Like, do you have any idea like how crazy that idea is? It's just like somebody is I can just picture God just

13 going like, "What the ████ are you tards doing?" What is this ████ You have to understand the idea of speaking in tongues is that the Holy Spirit has taken over your body, right? It's like a It's almost like a possession, right? So then you become this thing as a channel and vessel for the Holy Spirit, right? Who the ████ do you think you guys are that the Holy Spirit chose you? You suck dick in the parking lot. I know you, Tina Park. Like I know you suck dick in the park. >> But also, the Bible says nothing about sucking dick about getting your dick sucked either, okay? So >> Oh, we're going to go into specifics? Prostitution is like It didn't say anything about ████ sucking dick, though, you know what I mean? It's just a lot of weird >> the narcissist, though. >> Yeah. >> I'm so special. God talked to me. They ████ chose me. >> Yeah. But it's that community part where they feel like they have to do this thing. When you don't Exactly. So like once

03 again, it goes back into this idea. This is an all-knowing God, and he's supposed to know your heart. Why are you lying? Just say, "I This It's not happening for me." And then just walk away. But if you don't do that, you'd almost feel ostracized that the Holy Spirit hasn't chosen you. So you start doing this ████ over and over and over again. This is why you see a lot of kids who used to go to church because their parents forced them to. What happens when you go to college? You stop going to church. Cuz you were never taught about God. You were never given a choice to believe. So when you start believing on your own is when you truly find your faith. And that's why it's always been like that for me. Like people like, "Well, do you read the Bible?" I've read the Bible like three or four times. I don't remember ████ You want to know why? Cuz it was forced upon me. >> And cuz you have And cuz you have ADHD. >> And I have ADHD. I was like, In the beginning. In the beginning. In the beginning. In the beginning. That's all I remember. >> Yeah, get the Bible audiobook. Dude, King James is so hard to read.

54 >> You know what my dad made me read? He made me read Numbers. Do you guys know what Numbers is? >> Numbers is the worst book. I don't know why you would ever even >> It is a chronology of just like birthright. That's all that it is. >> Yeah, the begets. >> The begets. >> Yeah, it's the big begets. >> My dad would be like, "Summarize Numbers uh chapters 1 through 5." >> That's crazy. >> utility, though. >> I have a journal in my house at home where I'm summarizing and I just rewrote the Bible. >> Are you serious? >> Your own manuscript. Everyday I had to read a certain amount from the Bible and then summarize what I read. But my dad doesn't, you know, when it hit numbers I'm like this >> How do you summarize that? >> You don't. You just rewrite it. Over and over and I did that I read the Bible four times doing that. >> That's crazy. ████ King James. >> That sucks, dude. >> ████ LeBron, man. >> Wait, you were you were reading King James version as well? >> King James version, the NIV, I read that all that ████ And now I'm rereading the Bible now. That ████ still hard to

44 understand, dude. I don't know what the ████ is going on. Crazy. >> Well, cuz a lot of people don't realize that so much of all in between all the good stuff, it is a whole lot of nothing almost. Like damn near nothing, dude. >> They cut it down, huh? >> Favorite book in the Bible is uh uh Psalms cuz it's poems. >> Yeah. >> And prayers and yeah. >> It's beautiful poems and prayers. If you guys wanted to start with a book that's interesting, go to Psalms. >> Revelations is pretty badass. >> Starting with Revelations is good. Start at the end, yeah. >> In the beginning, in the beginning >> In the beginning >> Pornhub, doo doo doo doo doo doo. Damn, Mary Magdalene kind of ████ bad as what, dude? ████ My god.
