00 We tell all the JK people to come in and they come watch and join or they also they just they just destroy us. They might destroy us. We'll see you in Anaheim in November. Welcome back to another episode of Careful Boys. We're in the middle of an intervention with Mr. Joe Jitsukawa cuz he's having a little bit of emotional >> noticed that I'm getting ████ hotter? Yeah. Yeah, dude. We're biting our lip over [laughter] here. I was going to say something and then you think I was gay though. What were you going to say? Gay ass. >> Yeah, they you look they look hotter. You look you look like you lost weight, too. >> Yeah, right. I've lost like 2 lb. You look like you're ready to take one of those photos. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Looks like you're ready to >> [laughter] >> You looks like you're ready to take the leader of the Kinjas. Oh, you do. You look more Kinja than Anthony ever wishes
51 was. What are you talking about, Mike? >> [laughter] >> No, no, no. We're going to keep Mike We're going to keep Mike He's goated. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's the owner of Kim Kinjas. >> Anthony's irreplaceable. >> You you could you could take his throne, dude, as the sex haver. >> [laughter] >> Anthony's always the one that's like pushing Mike to the side when he does the dance cuz he wants to be the number one guy. But you said you've been trying to get sexy, try to get hot? >> Yeah, well, remember when Dr. Mike and Jared was here? Yeah. And I don't know if we talked about it on camera, but one of you guys asked them like what is the all around fitness thing? Yeah, I think we talked about it on camera. >> Right. And then they're like CrossFit and I was like, okay. Whenever I worked with you guys and just everything when I heard every time I heard about CrossFit, everyone would like not you, but people would joke about oh, you got to have you know, there's always a chiropractor right next door cuz it's going to ████ you up and
42 all that. And when we did circuits, that ████ would ████ me up so hard. I was just like it's not my thing. But I never took a CrossFit class. Mhm. Yeah, when after they said that, I was like, okay, well, like I tried so many different things and I have a CrossFit gym like right next to my pad. So I was like, let me go check it out. And then I did a class and ████ and I was like, this s███'s ████ fun, dude. And I really liked it. >> yeah. >> Yeah. >> And then um I just have I I don't know. I just I'm I'm always up and down with fitness cuz I never really caught the bug. I I got lucky cuz I'm surrounded by fitness guys like you and then like you have a gym. So the access and the ease made it so like my friends are there. I like hanging with them. But now that I don't have the friends to work out with it's like it my default is like go get some ████ pancakes and be a fat ████
32 right? >> Yeah, yeah, same, same, same, same. Oh, yeah. >> default and I'm pretty sure you're the same as like we always been skinny guys. So then like we never been fat guys. So like with age it's like, oh ████ how do you deal with this ████ >> Yeah, I've always like coincidentally just lost weight by byproduct of whatever I was doing. Like I didn't have to actively try to lose weight. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just burnt more than I ate. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. Me, too, yeah. And then like um over time like yeah, I had like friends that would be like, let's do some martial arts or something and then it all it was always driven by fun. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So like you got hell of fit because of dance and fun, right? So like I never got the bug of like I'm going to go to the gym for me. I enjoy this. I ████ hate that thing being the first thing I do in the morning, but I do it anyway, right? But it's easier
23 to like when you get busy, that's the first thing I don't do anymore cuz it just But then now I'm like, oh, okay. I like this. It's the first thing I want to do. So it's like, yeah. So then Hannah That's another thing, too, cuz like I'll go to the gym with Hannah, but then she um same thing. She doesn't have the bug for it. So she's like, ████ I want to do like a group yoga class or whatever and then we try and I'm like, I mean, there's a lot of hot girls in there, but I don't think I'm getting a workout like >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and I I want to lift. So then I was just like, you want to try CrossFit? And then what's dope about her, she's down to try everything. She goes, yeah, like the gym's boring. I want something that just keeps me like one thing next thing. I don't have a program to think about. I got I don't got whatever. So I was like, all right. So we did it both did it and then we're just looking at all these different things and I we caught this thing called
14 Hyrox. Have you heard about it? I have. I don't know what it is though. It's like a race with a little bit of like CrossFit stuff. >> an acronym? No. >> know. Oh, it's not? It's H Y R O X. >> What is it? What's that? What's the word? >> It's like a race with a bunch of these different fun stages cuz I did the Spartan Race and I loved it. >> Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Spartan Race is cool. >> from like your crazy ass doing a marathon where you just this the whole time. I'm too ADD for that ████ I'll go like this and then go to ████ McDonald's. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, I like Spartan Race. You done it? >> Yeah. I love Spartan Race, right? So I was like, okay, this looks like that, but it's not dirty. Okay. >> It doesn't have like just weird features just for fun. >> So it's it's different exercises in a row? >> Yeah, like I don't know. It's basically like CrossFit without all the dangerous moves. So are you familiar with CrossFit
05 at all? >> Yeah. So yeah, like CrossFit it's like there's a couple main components, but like the general programming for CrossFit would be like they'll have a strength movement then they'll have one that's called like metabolic conditioning. So that's where you do like a circuit that's usually between 10 to 20 minutes. And their goal is to get your rate heart rate at a certain um at a certain like BPM that produces in their opinion the best all around effects from like burning calories, but also the weight is heavy enough for you to also build muscle. So they're trying to like pack in as many results as they can in a short amount of time. And then usually after that or even before that they might have like a skill acquisition like learning how to walk on your hands or whatever. So that was the learning curve part of CrossFit where there is a skills acquisition and so even get into CrossFit, it's like you it's it's like
56 you can't just start break dancing. You got to do air flares, windmills, whatever. So I think that's why people are like, oh ████ like it's going to take me a year before I enjoy CrossFit. So when they came out with Hyrox, it's cool cuz it's like very basic movements that most people once they start going to the gym for the first month or two, they know how to do already like lunges Okay. like pulling like a sled or running and then they base kind of like these races off of them in like a circuit type of format. >> Okay, so then you you just go in succession each one of those exercises and do them as fast as you can. >> This is this is the format right here. They have 1,000 m skierg. And in every in between Just play a Hyrox video on YouTube. >> And in between each one they do a 1 km run. So you're it's eight stations in total. So you have to run like a good amount of it. So you have to Eight eight runs, eight stations? >> Yeah, so 1,000 m skierg, then you have
47 to run 1 km, 50 m sled push a run 50 m sled pull a run, burpee broad jumps. You have to I don't even know what those words mean. Burpee's like this. I'm just going to play a video. Burpee's [laughter] like this. You go like here. You go down on the floor and then you come back up. And then you got to jump forward. >> But then the broad jump would be instead of jumping Broad jump? jumping forward. >> Okay. Here, I'll just play this. >> For the peoples that don't know I don't know if this will explain anything, but we'll see. >> Yeah, but you could see So you [clears throat] start with a run. Skierg. I love this one. These are great. >> Yeah, I like skierg. Okay, sled push, yeah. They had that at Barbell. I love doing this. Sled pull. Yep. >> Okay. If you're good at pulling on penises. >> Right. Okay, so yeah. So all [laughter] of those in between every event is
38 What's rower good? So just just doing a rower, rowing machine. Farmer's carry. And then you got to do it for Yeah, every in between every one of these you run. Yeah. Yeah, it's really similar to Spartan Race. 100 [snorts] wall balls? >> do 100, dude. Oh, and you could do it. You could do it. >> Dude, 100 reps of that? >> 100. I did 100. You could do it. Yeah. How long did it take you, you think? >> My quads are going to explode. Um I did No, I did it 20 at a time. I couldn't do I couldn't do but but with 2-minute rest in between. >> That's good. >> Wait, so is Hyrox like a brand? >> Yeah. Yeah. Oh, okay. >> Kind of like how CrossFit's a brand, you know? Yeah, like a brand sport. >> I see. Oh, okay. >> So I look that started [clears throat] popping up on my feed cuz when you follow CrossFit like on Instagram that starts popping up. >> stuff. >> And I started seeing like
28 there's like senior citizens, like couples and then like these videos that are like, I joined the Hyrox with no training. And I was like, this is something that might be fun to just do. And then like I sent it to Hannah. She goes, oh ████ like that you could do it as a couple. So they have like single races. Yeah, yeah. And then they have different tiers, right? Like they they call them open when you're not like qualified as a elite athlete. Anybody could join. >> And then there's elite where like you could get to a certain point and it's all serious, dudes, and you want to like break records and ████ >> be like the pros. >> And then there's like mixed. So it's like it's like you could be male, female together and then there's just like or you could just be with your best bud or your gay boyfriend, you know, it's and then um >> [laughter]
18 >> trans play thing. It's versatile, dude. Yeah, that's all I was like, that's really cool cuz then We do a team of four, dude. That's our relay. That's the most that's the most you can >> most you can do. That's four of us. I'm down. Let's do it. Team of four? >> Anthony can't go. And it's it's so you you compete against all the other other relays. Oh, that's tight. >> Quad versus everyone else, dude. >> Careful Boys versus I feel like Steve would just be there with a megaphone talking ████ to us the whole time. >> Yeah. >> [laughter] >> Go faster. Do you have to climb a rope in Hyrox? That's the one thing I couldn't do on on a Spartan Race. Oh, that ████ is hard though. >> Yeah, cuz I I don't know how I don't know the technique. >> There's a skills component. But that grip strength is crazy. >> did the burpees on the side for that. >> Russian, you just do it with no legs. Yeah. But you just got to be Russian, though. And L sit. >> [laughter] >> Yeah. What is it like 20, 30 every time you
09 fail one on If you if you can't do the thing, yeah, you got Even Spartan race is hard compared to this cuz this is like everyone can complete it. Yeah. It's just time. Right, right, right, yeah. I guess Spartan Race I wasn't trying to um beat a time. So I was just kind of going at my pace. But if you're trying to do anything fast, I can see how that's going to burn out hard. >> the thing is we all have to run together. So like if it's like whoever slows us They're like that's the part where everyone gets slowed down. Is if you can't keep the pace up. >> Oh, the running between? And then so when you work as a team, does everyone do the runs together? Or you get assigned it? Well, there's like a main runner, but you got to keep up with them. No, I mean like let's say if we do a four-person relay, right? Is it like you alternate the exercises and all four run together or is it like people get assigned different things? >> No, we move together and then one person
02 does the stage. And when you get tired, you switch. So that's why you could get hella fast time. >> So like in one thing, like let's say the ski erg, we could be rotating four. Yep. So you're trying to do it like let's say you're trying to do 1,000 watts. As soon as it starts dipping, you go to 1,000 watts and then I do 1,000 watts. Yep. That's pretty cool. Yeah. Bro, we could do this. What? Um I don't know if >> Next to animal. No, I'm not. I'm wack, dude. Next team captain. No, what? Yeah. I don't know if it's like 500 m for the ski erg or 1,000 or whatever. I think it said 1,000. It's 1,000? >> do it as NTE training instead of capable what? [laughter] Or capable, dude. No, no, no, no. I'm not capable of that. June B, June B. >> [laughter] >> June B. Incapable. What time? We'll do it both times. Hey, that's the collab. Incapable. Incapable. [laughter] Incapable. Cuz what I've seen partners do is one person would go up until like
53 they can't and then the next person just finishes off. >> Oh, so you can like relay certain things? >> Yeah. Yeah, it's it's it's all relay. Oh. >> And then you could strategize. You could be like, all right, so like you're really good with the row, so you just do the row, but you get to skip the other stuff. Oh, okay. That's kind of cool. Yeah. And then like we'll be like we're really good at the ball, so then like I'll do 50 and as soon as I'm done, you do 50. >> I'm not good at the ball. I'm pretty good at the rower, though. >> I I think I could do wall balls, maybe. I'm pretty good at the wall ball. I think I could kill skier. Skier I'm pretty fast at. >> Okay, you do skier? Yeah. Although says he likes it, though. Joe says it's fun. I like skier. Do those two. >> Hey, you do wall ball. You do >> [laughter] >> I'll do the rower thing. Do you like the sled pushes? You got strong legs? Sled pushes He might be good. You think you got strong legs or you got strong arms or you think you have a good gas tank? >> I've kind of strong calves. Maybe you do all the runs. Who's doing HELL NO. [laughter]
44 THE RUNS? NO WAY, DUDE. Pull-ups I'm good at. Any pulling strength I'm good at pulling. I'll do the pull-ups and I'll do the rower, too. >> [laughter] >> But there's a technique. >> Oh, wait, are you good at Is that rope thing one of them? No, no, no. It was a it was a sled pull. That ████ looks crazy. I hate that thing, dude. >> What's your What's your 500-m time? Oh, I've never done it for time for distance. When I do my workouts, my rowers is for cows and watts. Oh, okay. >> to hit a Oh, sorry. I tried to hit [laughter] I tried to hit a peak power and then try to maintain that power. >> Okay. Yeah. Cuz another thing, too, is like we're trying not to gas out. >> Yeah. Yeah, cuz you got to pace yourself. Be at like a zone three or something. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But then with four of us, though, I feel like that's going to be so easy. >> Yeah, cuz then the other three comes to cheer you on.
35 You can do it. >> Dude, we got Dude, eight eight stages with the four of us? That's two stages each. It's easy. We got this. >> should actually be the other three go distract the other people. >> Start tripping people. You know what I could do? >> [laughter] >> While we're running on the runs, I trip. You know how like in the Tour de France? The guy trips and it takes out a bunch of people. I'll trip and I'll just get trampled by a bunch of people. Yeah, that'd be good. >> That's our strategy. If you guys want to join us on a Hyrox race, maybe we can make it where it's like maybe we tell all the JK people to come and then they come watch and join or they also They just They just destroy us. >> [laughter] >> They might destroy us. We'll see you in Anaheim in November. We should just do our own Hyrox tournament and just we pick everyone we go up against and just get all the weakest people. Good. So we're
25 guaranteed to win. We could call it the North Korean Games. >> [laughter] >> Where we always win. Yeah, we invent burritos.
// end of tape
