00 Cuz I have if I if they gave me 5% I would take it just so I could say it all day. I don't think you would though. I would. I think I would. >> think you would. Who are you saying it to? Just It just sounds cooler. >> You can't say it to us. >> Just It's just way cooler. Like if you go to like, you know, like your bank. >> [laughter] >> The bank. Welcome back to another episode of Careful Boys. Today we have Nick the Ear with us. >> [cheering] >> And as excited as I know everybody is to see Nick, this episode we're actually going to focus on welcoming back Mr. Jason Cheny. Wow. Yay. Yay. In Vegas. Are you saying boo? [laughter] I say yay. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Oh. Okay. Okay. So yeah, we're just going to check in with Jason and see how he's doing. How you doing?

50 Yeah, how you doing? >> How you doing, Jason? How's it like being uh Nevadian? Why come? We have another one on the team. For those of you who don't know, Jason Cheny has moved to Las Vegas as well. Uh I told Bart that um I'm going to I'm going to start telling everybody that I'm from here. Because I really like >> You said You said you're going to put in your IG born and raised. >> [laughter] >> That's the battle born. That's the state Like you're battle born or some ████ right? Yeah. Was it battle born? Battle born is the slogan for for Nevada, yeah. Oh, that's cool. I really like Las Vegas. >> I feel like Nevada's one of those states where it's not like Hawaii where it's got like this like history of like you could claim like you're local in Nevada and and everyone's a transplant. So they're like so? I'm I'm not local either, yeah. Like

40 Do you like that or no? What? Like to not claim like like oh, you're transplant, that's fine. That's better or worse. >> spent like or about 30 years in a location, that's what you're you should be. >> Wait, 30 years? No. No. No. What if you're like 25? >> No, so I'm saying So I'm saying like At the end of the day, I'm going to tell people I'm from LA. >> Yeah, what's the Oh, okay. Because I spent over 30 years >> what if you're 25? What I'm saying is what is the duration of time that you get to claim the new city? >> but you you you up until 30. So you're born and raised there. Oh. So like and then when you hit 30, then you could be like I'm from there. Okay, but what if but you were born in Japan? No. Oh. I was born in Torrance. >> [laughter] >> AKA Japan. Torrance, [laughter] California.

30 Torrance. Torrance is Japanese. Yeah. Yeah, but what is the duration? But 30 LA. That's not That's not fair because some people >> time. Right? That's too long of a time. >> No, I'm just saying if you're if you're born there, that's where you're from, right? >> Okay. But then But if you moved there when you were one, you have to wait till you're 31? >> [laughter] >> That's the rules of Hawaii. In Hawaii, you're not like Let's say you're local like Let's say you're like born in California and let's say you move there at 6 months old. You're not local cuz you weren't born on the ████ soil. Oh. That's stupid. Well, that's how they view it. >> So if you Let's say that some white couple just had a baby there, that baby has more birthright to Hawaii than you? Yeah, it does. Damn. >> They're local. Yeah. They earned their stripes.

20 >> Yeah. >> [laughter] >> They're local. I'm not. I'm going to always forever be a transplant. I could spend 40 years there. I'm a ████ transplant. >> Even though you've contributed so much to the community. Yeah, it don't matter. That's just the rules. The rule There's a hierarchy, dude. If you're like native Hawaiian, like you got blood Hawaiian blood. >> Are there are there even many of those still around? Not pure. Like not Like not 100%. >> Right. Like I think like a lot of them are like mixed race. >> Well, also how can you prove it if someone's telling you they are? What can you do as a person to prove they're not lying? 23 and me. I don't know. I really don't know because like All right, I want a the serious question I mean serious answer. I've watched this PBS debate of different

12 leaders in the native groups, right? And one makes an argument of we should have a census. We should get everybody together. We should have a ████ like cuz the claim is there's like 500,000 of them. And they need to like do like a sent like a like a census so we could collect the data and do something about it. There's an opposing >> Do something about it. What do they want to do? So they can organize. They could get like funding. They could claim to be like a like a tribal group or like whatever. Oh, like some of the benefits that Native Americans have. It's disorganized. There's no like if you don't have a census, how you going to like figure out who's who and what what's And if they do like pay out or whatever, like how are they going to trace your lineage of like Cuz right now it's just word of mouth

02 maybe, you know, not Maybe there is some organization, but it's not like a um like a organized committee of like You know how some tribes they have like a tribal committee and all that ████ And then it's because there's a technicality of they used to be a kingdom. So a lot of Native Americans, they're they're like tribal, right? They're They're like American like They're like a different category. And then so they get federal funding from the US government and then like There's like all these rules cuz they've accepted their place, right? Of like, "Okay, we we were taken over. This is the thing." Hawaiian natives were a kingdom that got taken over illegally. So the the the status is we were an autonomous nation.

53 And then the federal government worked with the sugarcane guys and ████ did some like um it they call it like the Bayonet Constitution, but basically it was like a it was a coup. It was an illegal coup. >> Sign or I'll kill you or whatever. Basically some like yeah, some ████ up ████ So the native group that's against it, they're like, "If we sign if we have a census if we if we go under the process if we become tribal, we accept defeat." But for them, they're like, "I don't want to ████ accept defeat. So I'm not going to sign up for this thing." So inside they can't agree. Even though there's already a McDonald's on Hawaii. I'm not accepting any defeat. Yeah. But there's hella CVS's and McDonald's. And then there's there's there's like people who are like blood quantum, that concept is like

46 kind of like a slavery concept. Cuz it's like if you if you're like 10% black or 50% black, it don't matter. In America, you're black, right? So they're like for Hawaiian, it's like you're trying to make us seem like one guy's more Hawaiian cuz he's 90% Hawaiian and one guy's less Hawaiian because he's only like 10% Hawaiian. Do you Do you think the guy that is 5% black, some of them is like, "I'm not black."? For sure. Like they're like, "Can we make the five zero?" They just don't bring it up. >> I think the opposite. I think I think the opposite is there's guys that are 5% And then they claim And then that's all >> Well, that's that's more frequent. But like are there people that are doing his thing? This episode of JK News is brought to you by Uncommon Goods. In front of me are two Uncommon Goods.

But now we take away the N-word card and then see what they say. If they're like, "No. No. No. I got to keep it. I got to keep it." Then like, "Okay, then you keep the 5%." Mm. Cuz I have if I if they gave me 5% I would take it just so I could say it all day. I don't think you would though. I would. I think I would. >> think you would. >> Who are you saying it to? Just It just sounds You can't say it to us. >> Just It's just way cooler. Like if you go to like, you know, like your bank. >> [laughter] >> The bank. Or you order order something

17 at Starbucks. Yeah. If you say the N-word after you say like vanilla latte, it just sounds way cooler. >> Yeah, and you dab them up [clears throat] after. Wait, but the if you say the N-word, but this is I think this is should be the gauge of whether or not you're black is that if you say the N-word with the A, right? And then a person goes like this when you say it and then and anybody will go like this, "Oh, okay." Then no, you're not black. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. But they accepted it. They said, "Okay." They go, "Okay." They they accept Like I guess, but that's not You can't Do you guys know any like guys who are black that don't look black? Yeah. Right? They won't say it. They'll be like, "Nah." Like we have we have some friends. No, no, no. I'm talking about like who like 5% maybe 10% or whatever. Or like a small percentage but they're like white passing. They won't say it.

07 In my experience. No, he's not white passing though. He's he's just light he's light skin black. Yeah, he's just mixed. What would say it and then defend it all the time? And I think a larger percentage of them won't say it. That's why come on you know I'm 5%. In my >> [laughter] >> Well they can't say it they're like I'm not going to say it. Nice. >> You know who I don't even bat an eye when they say it? Like long beach Cambodians. I don't think it's safe it's not safe to bat an eye when they say it. >> [laughter] >> You say have a great day sir and you keep it moving brother. Nice tattoos. >> [laughter] >> If you see a dark skinny Asian dude with cornrows sometimes you think they're black. Long Beach Cambodians definitely look black. Sometimes they're darker than black people. >> I know some Cambodian dudes who are black passing. They they claim they claim racism toward black people cuz

58 they're like you don't like us cuz we're darker than you. I went to one of my friends I went to his family reunion like a Cambodian family reunion in Long Beach and then all of his cousins are like heavy thugs and ████ And then the way that they like dap up and say like hey I haven't seen you in a long time. They just went blue moon dog. Which means I haven't seen you in a blue moon. >> [laughter] >> Like I see you once every blue moon. >> That's a really cool way to say that. >> They just kept going hey blue moon dog blue moon dog. They just kept saying blue moon. I was like I should have said that to you when he came in. That's really cool. Blue moon dog. Would you have known what I was saying to you? No, I'd be like they're beautiful. >> [laughter] >> I'd be like I like I like Belgian ales too. >> [laughter]

48 >> Also they didn't they didn't say dog I replaced that word. Belgian ales that's a deep cut from this guy. >> Belgian ale yeah. IPA game was weak as ████ >> [laughter] >> So Jason how are you though? I'm doing good I'm doing good. Cool. Why'd [laughter] you say it like that? I was just saying really general can you ask a specific thing? >> you when did you move when did you move here? When was the last time you got a haircut? Yeah. Oh you know what? Okay, I've been getting haircuts from different barbers. >> You're testing it out. I'm testing it out. They're ████ me up every time. Are they? Did you go to any of the ones I told you to go to? I went to I'm not going to say the name but yes. But that you know I didn't go to a specific barber because I just I'm like let's just like I like to let life take me like a water in a river. So you just show up >> [laughter] >> to the barber shop and anyone take you?

39 Or What about the guy the specific guy I told You gave me two? Yeah both of them are good. He went to none of them. But I'm going to tell [laughter] you both oh my god dude. >> Bro you got to go to the one guy. >> Going to are you like using his info to not No, no, no and then I go to the vicinity of it. Do you know what I mean cuz I like to go with like a river in a water. >> to discover your own gem. Yeah or like I just sometimes I like a little chaos. If someone tells you go to this restaurant get this dish he goes to the restaurant he gets a totally different dish and goes it wasn't that good. That's that guy dude. He goes to he goes to the Home Depot next store and goes to 2 by 4 here or whatever. He didn't even get the food. >> [laughter] >> He went INTO THE VICINITY. WHO DID YOU get your haircut by at the place I sent you to? Um which one? You don't I don't know if you're you're going to say it All right no don't don't

30 tell the name but describe the person. >> Oh you when you walk in He's the one with the open chair? >> Is he a is he big big Samoan guy with all the tattoos? >> It's it's not though it's not the one I should have. Is it the one the skinny person you don't know if it's a guy or girl? I went to no I went to one of those too. And then that wasn't that good. >> That was not good. Don't know if it's a guy or girl. >> Yeah. I mean everyone's Hawaiian. But do you ask or you just everyone just doesn't know? I don't know. They everyone else probably knows but I don't know if it's like I don't know. Really there's no way to tell? You know what I'm talking about right? There's a person in there that's like on the skinnier side. >> It's ambiguous. >> And I don't know if it's a guy or girl I don't know. Yeah. But you get it and you respect it. Can I tell you something also? Is that I like my barber not sometimes for the haircut it's just for the energy too.

21 Cuz I got to sit there for 30 ████ minutes. So then I go sometimes a haircut my like my last barber she's 68 and she's Latina lady she's a grandma and I really like her for her energy but she's [snorts] you know what I mean? Like sometimes it's more hair here and more less hair and I'm like that's okay because it's like ooh something different you know? But the energy's good. >> [laughter] >> Yeah. Like to roll the dice. Yeah like doing but then I go but this but I remember the lady and she's has good energy good experience. So you go for her energy you don't go for a haircut. >> No. So where do you go if you have a really important haircut to get and you have a big important show to go to? >> I go to the Mexican lady. For good energy. >> For good energy. And that's more important. And that's more important but

11 then the haircut is like oh that's something different you know? Oh that's what I'm paying for but I don't care. >> [laughter] >> He doesn't even go for the skill of a barber. He just wants to know who's fun. Cuz you could go to massage person for the energy and they'll give you really good energy. Right that's true. He'll give them a s█████ massage but he gives them good energy. Good stories. But I go to the massage [laughter] person for a haircut. >> Can I tell you something also? Can can I tell you something also? Is that when I go to for a haircut too I like the effort that you put in and how meticulous you are even if it's not that good. >> Oh. >> You try hard I go with no matter what this person tried their best and I appreciate that more than if you do a ████ perfect thing and then you're like telling me about your cocaine

01 parties. But that means they're skilled. Yes that does mean they're skilled. If they give you a perfect haircut effortless Yeah but I don't want the perfect skill. He's not shopping for skill. He wants effort. Effort is really important in vibes yeah. Vibes. Mostly vibes. He wants to find the under appreciated >> not recommending anything ever again. >> [laughter]
