00 Do you guys remember those old infomercials back in the day of like ab flex, ab roller, ab this, ab whatever, right? So, back then I mean and that's how it was all the time. You would just get bombarded by these commercials of these like ████ eight-pack sick ass buff black dudes. >> It's like the back in the day version of the shake weight, that kind of stuff. Yeah. The better version. >> If you call now, then like four easy payments and we'll knock off a fifth payment and we'll throw in this like mat for you to lie on type ████ Yo, this ████ it used to get my mom so easy, right? She was just like, "Yo, like this is how" I swear that there was no version of losing weight that included eating better and like walking. There's no version of that, but if you give me a good infomercial, my mom bought every single one. Uh we had the There was that bluish clear blue ab

50 roller thing where you put the ████ you scroll and handle for that. >> out there just before we even get more into the video, what Anthony said is correct. If you're trying to lose weight, the Bible, the law is eating less and walking more. None of these other contraptions from the past to the future will ever substitute that. >> Start there. >> Go on. >> Or bone eating Ozempic. Uh but uh >> So, like we had that that clear blue blue one, right? You remember that one that like they put a spring in it so it'll help you come back up for the people who basically can't just do a regular ab roller. >> Yeah. >> We had that one. >> assistant ab roller >> You remember the purple one? >> That one made it way easier. >> It was the purple one with the black leather on it and stuff like that. You would just kind of just do the crunches. That one Those are actually pretty legit, which is I think why my mom quit

40 faster. >> Cuz they hurt. >> Yeah, cuz it's actual work. >> But they dupe you cuz they get the buffest guys and girls to do these things and they never do these things in their own regimen, but because they're like models doing this, you're like, "Oh, ████ that works for sure." >> Yeah. They sold you a dream, bro. My favorite one though was the spaceship looking one where it was like ab flexor whatever where you would pull it. You pull You don't talk It was a gray one. Damn, I got to find this. Um you would like pull it into your abs so it would have like a thing where you have to flex your ab in order to pull this spring-loaded thing contraption towards you. >> And it's trying to squish your fat away? >> It's like It's like a It's like a six-pack outline. >> My my mom had the old-school like 50 70s kind. Have you ever seen It's like a this vibrating machine? >> Yeah, what? They had that? That ████

30 looks like a >> This is so awesome. >> Do you remember the ab flex, bro? >> It teaches you how to engage your core, probably. >> [laughter] >> It looks like a straight-up stealth bomber. >> I remember this one being the most absurd like where are we? But I was as a kid though, I was hyped. I was like I can't wait to get this ripped, yo. Because >> Like like this guy is selling this spaceship and my mom's at home going like I'll have one. >> But that guy's on steroids. >> [laughter] >> And he just did a 12-week cut. >> [laughter] >> And he probably was in a sauna for an hour before the shoot. [laughter] So his ████ skin's paper thin. >> like a 10-lb water cut. >> The infomercial belief that that they had on the regular average Joe of America.

20 >> I remember when I I started getting a we cuz when we started having friends in the fitness industry who would like get um they would get booked on these commercials and the things they would have to do before they would actually get booked. Like they would have to agree to a diet. You have to be this body fat percentage. They would have all these stipulations that you have to look good before we even film this. Otherwise, you don't get a ████ >> That makes so much sense now. >> Yeah, right? Right? Right? >> Like duh, now. >> [laughter] >> But back then though, like the way way packaged everything, you're like, yeah, I'm going to have abs in 6 weeks. Like, there's just no way to stop There's nothing to stop me." >> Yeah, all I got to do is follow just what this guy did and the movement is so easy. They never ████ say ████ about your nutrition, your diet, your regular, whatever. If you got heart problems, whatever. >> Well, they also interview the model and everyone's in on the ████ scam. They're like, [laughter] "Do you feel

10 the burn?" You're like, "Oh, yeah. Oh, I do feel the burn. Oh, I'm never going to do the I'm never going to do regular crunches ever again." >> And I eat it up, bro. I eat it up for breakfast. >> Never going to do a regular sit-up ever again? >> [laughter] >> Yeah, cuz they would always have the They would always have the comparison one. >> Yeah, they always do that. >> Do your abs Does your neck hurt from doing abs? And you're like, They always do the video. >> they'll always have that like the like that chummy like, "Do you have a smaller version of that so I can travel with it?" And you're like, "Dude, they even want to travel with it. [laughter] Whoa." ████ scammer. >> The travel version is the sickest play. >> We'll throw a second one in. >> Yeah, two smaller versions for the price of the [laughter] big one. >> You know what's funny though? Like, mostly it's boomers getting duped by ████ like this, but I was the one in the

00 household that begged the ████ out of my parents and brother every single time I got hooked on an infomercial and they were the ones trying to tell me, "That ████ doesn't work." And I'm like, "Just get it for me for my birthday. I'm going to prove you." >> Which one did you want? Which one did you want? >> So, for me, it was fishing lures. >> Shut the ████ up. >> I was like, >> Were you already going fishing during this time? >> Yeah, like I was I was an avid angler. Like, I ████ loved fishing, right? >> Just the way he Just same as as his tagging adventures. >> But, my whole ████ was like, "All right, we always use like worms and we always have to buy bait. But, if you just spend this much money and it catches way more fish, we don't have to buy bait. No, we save money in the long term, you know?" And then my dad was like, "It doesn't work like that." But, it was so convincing. I'm telling you these dude would cast as

51 soon as the ████ lure goes in, boom, they have footage of the ████ fish catching, like biting into it. They're like, "Every single time I do this, they ████ catch." >> And like, just the fact that you even have footage of the fish catching it, thinking like that's the real deal. >> And I'm like 9 years old just what like, "It works! The fish is biting it! This is ████ crazy, right?" And I'm like, "Please, just get it for me. Just get it for me." And then like, back then, remember you had to call? It's like, "Call now!" So then they call and then they're like, "All right." And then yeah, "Give me the $30 one or whatever." It shows up. And then my brother was like, "Man, we could get this at Sportmart. It's the same ████ but we paid double." And I'm like, "But this one's special. It's different. >> [laughter] >> Watch the commercial. Look at that. That bass jumped on it." It was literally

42 a weight with the wiggly ████ plastic >> Like just Was it the Did it have like a battery so the tail moves or something? >> No, it wasn't even that. It was special technology, but like literally, you can go to any ████ fish like fishing store, get the same ████ for half the price. And then so like, we went fishing. I ain't catch ████ dude. But I was I was like, by this time it's like being a part of a pyramid scheme. Like, you can't let it go. >> You have to let it work. You have to make it work. >> blaming the fish. I was like, "You guys are too loud. That's why like you guys are ████ loud. You're scaring the fish." I made up every ████ excuse in the book. And then later like, you know, they were using like worms, salmon eggs, whatever. They were catching fish. I wasn't catching ████

32 But it didn't stop me though, dude. I would just keep infomercials would get me every single time. >> But you didn't you never caught any fish with that lure? >> ████ no. >> So you I think the worst part about it like when you watch those commercials, especially when you're a kid, it's the dreams you come up with while you're watching it. >> That's what ████ you up. >> They sell you on the dream. >> Cuz when you're watching the six-pack ab thing, you're like, "Dude, I'm going to get so many babes. Like all these chicks are going to love me. Vanessa from economics is going to totally ask me out, you know?" >> Like you're thinking about all this stuff. >> scam from the YouTube era was the six-pack shortcuts. >> The Mike The Mike Mike Chang, remember? >> What would he like what was he talking about? >> would be like like 6 minutes a day or something or some crazy ass number. Uh then you're going to have six-pack abs. And then meanwhile you look at him, that guy looks like he benches 400 [laughter] lbs.

22 >> But he would show up every day on YouTube and I'd be like, "Yep, you're right." Just like you >> he would do like towel workouts. All you have to do is just hold a towel and he just like crunch. And then he would like kind of like disprove. I think that the way these scams work, they take away all your pain points. >> Yeah. >> You're like, "Oh yeah, like ████ my gym membership is like 30 bucks a month. I got to do this, do this." >> it. >> And then they paint the dream. >> Then they put in the dream. Don't isn't those pair of pants that you always wanted to fit into? >> Yeah. >> You're like, "Yeah, I do always want to fit into those pants." And then here's you what you could do for 6 minutes if you sign up now. And then you're like, "F███, I'm going to ████ sign up right now." >> They get you bro with all these like I've taken like mentorships and when they ask you talk to clients online and like what to do. >> You're like >> hammer for the pain points. >> Talk about how fat they are.

13 >> [laughter] >> Talk about how like you know, they and and like the more you do it, the more it kind of works, but then it sucks, dude. You just feel like >> [laughter] >> You're just ████ >> But the world is full of them. Like I remember going with my mom to like those acupuncturist herbalist stores and they have those like detox skinny teas. Uh tea. But all what it what really is it just makes you ████ your brains out for like 2 days. So obviously you you lose 10 lbs. >> of just water, >> of just water. >> I'm less bloated. You're >> Yeah, ████ you got no water in >> everybody who's trying to get fit for like 10, 20 years is just all scams. >> Yeah. >> Just walk and eat less. >> Just do that, you guys, and go on cable. >> But that's the whole point though, like you don't want to do that. >> Yeah, >> [laughter] >> You don't want to do the hard work. >> Like I don't want to do the thing that I got to think about every day. I want to do something that's like maybe risky one

05 time. And even if I got to check back in like 6 months, I want to do that one. And if you're saying it's going to cost me a couple hundred bucks, I'm like, all right. >> And it's going to give you nothing? All right. >> I think >> If it's a If it's a chance, >> all of these infomercials are trying to sell you a cheat code hack, but it's actually doesn't work. >> We've been doing it with ████ Game Sharks the whole time. >> But that ████ That's a good product, though. >> We'll never not want some version of a cheat code. >> Fast. >> And even if it makes us go the longer way, but we have seven of those fast cheat codes that does the exact same thing as just you could have just done this, it's still going to be more exciting. >> Cuz even crypto's like that. Right? Like the the the quintessential rule is put money away, S&P 500, wait 30 years, and

55 you're like, 30 years? >> That one's boring. That one's boring, obviously. >> Or I just put it [clears throat] in ████ whatever meme coin, 10x tomorrow. >> Yeah, but I choose boring every ████ day, I think. >> Day trading is the way to go. >> [laughter] >> ████ no, dude. >> I definitely don't choose the boring as the way to go every time. I choose the exciting, really fast, fun, flashy every time. And then when it bites me in the ass enough, then only in that one category do I go, just for this is an exception, I'll do boring. But I didn't learn any lesson in the broader scope of my life. I will always still choose the flashy 10x right now. >> I'm still a big infomercial lover even when I know it's a scam. >> What's a good infomercial today? Scientology? >> Well, they're going to bring it back, dude. >> have them all the time. >> Hey, you know you know everyone online selling? They're just going to do QVC on

46 like their own like Tik Tok. >> Like that sells way more than anything. >> Isn't that just what it is anyway? >> Yeah. >> Just on Tik Tok now instead of on TV. Cuz now people could just buy faster. >> We're done, dude. We're a consumer country. All all the stuff that we buy is going to end up >> in the ocean, dude. >> Are we selling on Tik Tok? >> No. >> We should. We should also ab roll. Hey, you want to sell some ab wheels? >> That's me. >> let's get this guy to sell some ab wheels, bro. Are you kidding me? >> That's way fun and he's got to do it scam style like the the '90s. >> No, but he could actually teach it well, though. >> like I don't like lying, dude. I don't want to >> No, we don't we're not lying. >> Hey, want a six-pack like this? 5 minutes a day. Like just >> What'd you do to get your six-pack? >> 30 seconds a day. >> Hanging leg raises. >> Eat less. >> Yeah. >> Walk more. >> But also besides that besides all that >> You already said that. >> And then two shake weights while on the ab wheel. >> Shut up, dude. He's doing sit-ups. He's

37 doing ████ weighted crunches. You're doing an ab wheel. >> I don't have an ab wheel at my house. >> See? We sell it now. >> Duh. >> Come on. >> Hey, call it the flab wheel. >> Flab wheel? >> Cuz I'm flabby. I'm flabby. >> I'm flabby, too. >> Call it flabulous. >> Flabuloso. >> I'm trying to get under 10%. Trying to get >> Flag it. >> Flag it? >> That sounds too close to >> [laughter] >> Does this sound too close, guys? >> Comment below if you think >> too close. >> Hey, when you write it out in the comments, is this it? Tell us what you think. >> Flag it.
