00 One thing I could really teach and and say is be super careful of your perspective and what you what words come out of your mind mouth and what you tell yourself in your head. Welcome back to another amazing episode of Bart from the Heart, which is a series where Bart made this list of harder questions than normal and we'd have to take the entire episode to answer them. We're going to talk to Joe right now and we are going to ask him If you farted, can you smell it? >> farted, can you smell it? >> [laughter] [gasps] >> The question is if you can only pass on one single lesson to your child, what would the lesson be and why? >> Japanese number one.

50 How to write hiragana. >> [laughter] >> Hiragana of all things? Just hiragana. Is hiragana Is hiragana still useful? >> Yeah, it's it's phonetic. >> Oh, okay. >> I got inspired by listening to Bart's answer, which was like you could do anything you want really if you like put your mind to it, right? That's what people say. >> Right. But then lately, so like okay, you guys know about the whole manifestation ████ right? And Like law of attraction? >> Yeah, it's probably one of the most stupidest things out there. >> Really? Until I realized that I've been practicing it. Mhm. You're guilty of law of attraction? >> Yeah, but I think the difference is um of course you need to take action behind what you do. >> Sure, yeah. >> Right? So then

41 So for example, like I had this like Do you like vision boards and stuff? No, but like I remember talking to Bart back in the day of like hey we we would just dream storm and then have these ideas and be like wouldn't be cool if one day we got this and then it'll happen. And then I was like hey isn't it cool that every single time we go like let's do this goal and then we kind of like joke about it and be like hey we'll go to Vegas one day we'll get a penthouse suite at the Bellagio that'll be so cool and we did it. Right? And then it's like hey wouldn't be cool if we make a company and like we actually just work like all the way till November and then for December we just take everybody out on a trip we do and then you just come up with these things and then throughout life I would just have these ideas and I'll be like yeah I want you know what I think I'm going to live in Hawaii. Yeah, I'm going to live in Hawaii for a little bit and then like I just do it, right? And then I was like so there was a point where there was no more doubt ever if I just

34 ████ picked a target I could do it. But also the negative stuff is also true. So what I realized is like if you dwell it's like there's science behind it. Cognitive bias. The more you think about something like slug bug, the more it's in your face every single day. So if I keep thinking about oh I I can't make money I can't make money then yeah you can't make money cuz you're not making money. >> Right, yeah. But if you think about like oh yeah I'm getting these gigs and I'm and I see and you see a win here then it's different. It's almost like if you hit the bar and you go I'm not making 10 mil then you're not being appreciated cuz you made well five. Uh-huh. So like you're it's your perspective, right? So if one thing I could really teach and and say is be super careful of your perspective and what you what words come out of your mind mouth and what you tell yourself in

24 your head. >> Oh, yeah. >> Asian style is like you ████ piece of ████ little ████ you can't do this ████ right? ████ you, right? And that was my like that was my It's very helpful. >> my like villain energy of like getting something done. Yeah. So then like but then you're never actually like doing things fun cuz you're doing it with like so much ████ talking to yourself. >> Yeah. So you're just like You're just saving yourself from drowning barely. >> Yeah. And then why do I have to use so much resistance to do something that doesn't take that much resistance? >> Mhm. It's like it doesn't it doesn't take that like why you put it's it's actually harder to run and jog while you're talking ████ to yourself. But that's what you know like that's just motivating when you're younger. >> cool though. >> You're jogging you're like man just do another mile you little ████ ████ >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And

14 you get used to that. But then when you stop thinking about that you can do five more extra miles cuz you're in la la land. >> yeah. And you're having fun. Yeah, because you stop treating one mile like it's the hardest ████ thing you can Exactly. Because you make it a mountain it becomes a mountain, right? Versus like if you don't even think about it you're just like yeah and I know that there's a time and place for David Goggins style training. Because like some people need that cuz they're maybe they were too coddled. Maybe they were too like every every time you get a gold star. But if you're actually if you're abused, if you grew up like getting ████ up all the time and on top of that you're not loving yourself and you're not nice to yourself and you're just like your mind is like in this negative rut Right. >> then then I actually think you you start attracting negative ████ Cuz that's all

04 you think about. If I think about violence all the time I'm getting into a fight. Yeah. >> Or like I'm going into these situations >> violent. >> Yeah. Like gangster day ████ like you're going to stupid clubs and environments where there's other people that want to fight you >> Yeah. And then I was like that's the whole thing though like is like as true it is as like you could put your mind into anything and and you can become that I think that's the thing that I wish like I could teach my kids is like is like whether you're you think you're going to fail or you think you're going to win it's both true. But you're choosing to think a certain way and how you believe in it. And I was like dude that's the most powerful thing because um it's all perspective. Right? Like it's it's really like the story that you

54 tell yourself. Yeah. So if I could somehow it doesn't have to be this delusional toxic positivity but knowing that you have the ability to control how things happen to you, how you see a situation. Like some people might be like I lost my job I lost everything, right? Or you could be like now I'm free to pursue my passion. >> Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cuz like my roommate he was like a pharmacist, right? And then he was he he really wanted to like um go off and and do something for himself. And then like I think he wrote something on social media talking about you know ████ about his job and then he got fired and he was so sad. And I was like what are you talking about like why are you sad? This is what you wanted, bro. Like you wanted you had golden handcuffs. Now

45 you have no you burned the ████ boats behind you. Yeah. And then in that next year he made more money than he did as a pharmacist >> Wow. >> own thing, right? So I think things like that it's like you you can see it you can see tragedy as negativity or you can see it as like actually this is what I kind of wanted to get now now now the universe pushed me into the direction that I wanted to go because I was I didn't I didn't do it or whatever, you know? Right. >> think for everything whether whether it's like injury, death in the family, things that are supposed to be sad and tragic it can also be when you look back you're like because that happened now this awesome thing happened because it was it was that. So I was so I think like the power of perspective what you say to yourself in your mind

36 like just controlling the words and the world I think that's so ████ important. And then cuz like when a kid is growing up I think it's scary like you don't know how the world works. You don't know how like destiny works. You don't know how like if if you feel powerless because also you're like a child you need adults to help you navigate and you know you can't even drive do anything, right? >> Yeah. But then I think if you can get them in that head space where they could control how they feel, how they think how they see things, how they deal with tragedy like cuz you know ████ can happen like I could I could ████ pass when they're like 10. But if you could teach them early on to like have that ability to control their world I think that's probably the strongest thing that

27 can happen in a human's mind. Mhm. What's the balance between what let's say you're teaching that manifestation technique, what is the balance in teaching it where you make sure that it stays in between manifestation and delulu? It's only delulu if it doesn't happen. >> [laughter] >> That's funny. Right? No, I mean like think about like okay like a good example for me is like Muhammad Ali. Like he's he he's he's is one of the greatest, right? But when you see his interviews I'm the ████ greatest this and that. And it doesn't come off as like a delusional conceited guy. It's cuz he keeps winning. >> Yeah, and cuz he did it. >> Yeah. And Kanye is batshit. >> Yeah. But he keeps ████ winning, right? He keeps But you have you ever heard Kanye doubting himself saying negative things? No. I mean Trump's a great example. He

18 ████ like >> Yeah, yeah, that's true. delusioned himself into the presidency from being a a TV reality TV star. Like so like for me that's the the the the highest level of being so delusional to where you accomplish high level ████ >> Yeah, yeah, [laughter] yeah. For me it's like maybe like I'm okay with being a little bit grounded. >> [laughter] >> But I that's but I that those are examples of what I can see how far someone can go by just um Or if their work ethic matches their words, too. >> That's a big one. You can't just hope all day. >> So when you walk in when you walk into the the Junbi franchising meetings with everyone, you're not like You want to be the number one selling Junbi like me? SELL ME THIS MATCHA. >> [laughter]

09 >> I I THINK it's it's got to be the combination of working toward your goal. Cuz when you got there, Yeah. how did you visual- Did you visualize in the beginning that like I'm going to be the top earning Junbi franchise? >> No, no. I That wasn't even a goal of mine. >> Wow. >> Cuz my visualization was >> Just to run a good shop? >> I mean, it was literally what I do now, which is like I swim or I hike with my friend, and then I come check up on the shop, and I'm all like, "Good job." And then like, you know, and then like Yeah, that's it. >> [laughter] >> And then, you know, there's more to it, but but the thing is like I wasn't trying to be number one. Yeah. That's a different thing because out of survival um and then like the tourism went down and the economy went down, and then like I had to fight to survive, but I don't

59 think my goal was to be the the best top revenue franchise. >> just a byproduct of how hard you had to try. >> Yeah, it was a byproduct, but I think that if if I want to maintain that top position, then I I'll visualize that and put my focus and efforts. Cuz I think what but visualization and all that stuff is all it is is just being reminded of the priority. Yeah. >> Cuz it's easy to get distracted. You don't obsess over what your target is, you'll It's like a arrow that's just going without a target, right? But then if you have a end game of what you're doing all this for, and you can see it clearly, then it's like, "Oh, cool." And then before you Before you know it, you're there, and you're like, "Wow, this is ████ awesome." >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like the first time we all brought everyone to Japan, and we're just like, "This is ████

50 awesome, right?" And then so I want more things like that. I want more things like that with you guys. I just don't have >> [laughter] >> I just don't have an idea. That sounds great, man. Yeah. I don't have an idea yet, but I do think that's the thing. Is like visualizing the the target, and then on your way there, I think don't The problem is you don't want to um be your own worst enemy on the way there. Uh-huh. >> Cuz then you're just delaying your own progress. Like you're just delaying your own like like method. But I Yeah, like I like I think the the point is it's like having a clear target, and you just keep going and going and going, and then you'll eventually get there. Sometimes you'll forget that you had the target, but you'll one one day you'll end up there, and you'll go, "Oh, ████ I told myself I'd do this like a year ago." I'll I'll tell you one quick thing that actually

40 works for me is writing. Oh, okay. >> So one year So I've been dealing with Writing? >> [laughter] >> No, journaling. So like I've been I've been writing it down. >> You need a lot of wall for that, dude. And then I'll write it down like every morning for like for like hella cuz it it just helps me with my like I used to wake up with Did you visualize it? excruciating like morning anxiety. So like What? >> Yeah, some like it all happened like in 2020 where like Hannah Well well yeah, like Hannah would be like, "You know, you wake up, and you're like panicking and s███." And I'm like, "Really?" And you're like, "I didn't notice." And then I've always dealt with insomnia, and I just thought I was a night person. So I would write down like and visualize like um I'm waking up like super refreshed. I'm super like I'm just

30 chilling. I feel calm, and then like um I'm not groggy, and then like every day I'm just like I I don't I don't feel it. I wake up in a panic. I'm ████ half asleep, and I just want to go back to sleep. I'm ████ up. I just get some coffee, and I just start drawing it out. Yeah, I'm feeling amazing. I'm chilling right now. Oh. >> One year after, first time in my life, I'm just like I'm relaxed. I just wake up, and I just like see the birds chirping, and I'm like, "This is ████ crazy." Cuz you know, for the longest time you've known me, I had sleep problems. I never was able to sleep like relaxed. I I I wake up in patterns. >> Dude. And then like yeah, and then so I think that kept me on this like priorities list of Okay, work out, drink water, get the sun, do the basics, sleep 8 hours, right? And

21 then naturally like yeah, your body's going to do the normal thing naturally, right? Yeah, but yeah. That's it. That's dope. So you you wake up and write every day? The first thing you do? I finished the book, so it was a 90-day challenge. >> Oh, okay. What's crazy is that a year ago like I dated it, right? I wanted it to work out to be like this This is my picture. This is the morning I picture. This is a perfect morning. I wake up with a clear mind. I could be productive. Used to take me 2 hours to get to work cuz my brain was just waking up and ████ but I could get straight to it in 10 minutes now. Wow. Yeah, and then so Yeah. Man, what you did for yourself, some people spend a lot of money trying to fix that for themselves. The power of journaling, dude, seriously. >> Yeah. >> Well done. All right. That was another episode of Bart from the Heart. If you guys have any questions that you'd like us to answer

11 that would be a little bit deeper than usual, just write it down in the comments below. Or if you're a member of our Patreon, just write it in the Discord. See you later.
