00 Bucket list audit time. What's on your list? What have you hit so far? What's still on there that you got to get going on? >> I was thinking about like this exact thing recently. Don't your guys' bucket list change based on your age and era >> and and financial ability. >> Yeah, that's a big one. >> Yeah, for sure. >> Yeah. But like when you were younger, right, I think all of our one of the biggest checklist is one day I can't wait to do a cream pie and then that's all you that was like the top of your list. >> I never had that one. >> Let him cook. >> How'd you get ta? >> No, but I I didn't I didn't I didn't know I wanted a cream pie like that >> until after. [laughter] >> Until after. Until you did it and you were like I think this is all >> Do you know what a oral cream pie is? >> What's that? >> When you get to bust in the mouth. That's my favorite. >> That's not how you made Tao though.

50 >> No, but that isn't that a bucket list item? Didn't you when you found that out, didn't you go, >> oh, like at that >> I can't wait for that to happen to me. >> At Dude, at that age, I was like, I want a chick to gag on this and then I realized it was a sizing error that I was born with. >> They can't gag if it doesn't reach their throat. >> Yeah, >> I guess the my bucket list version would be busting in the mouth and then you tickle them so they laugh and they have to swallow it. >> You think people swallow when they laugh? Yeah, they choke. They cough and they spit it back out. Is that a bucket list? >> Maybe I'm answering a different prompt. I don't know. [laughter] >> Hey, it's your bucket list, dude. It's whatever you want. I'm saying different dreams at different stages, right? If you ask Taco right now, he's probably going to be like, "Ooh, ████ ice cream on Friday. I can't wait." Like, it's like, so >> he wants his podcast to have more followers than Mr. Beast.

40 >> Bucket list. That's number one. >> It's unrealistic. I'm saying like the ████ that you >> worked really hard and wanted when you were younger. >> You ████ that ████ now every day. [laughter] >> So you ████ out being an astronaut every day? >> I never wanted to be an astronaut. I just wanted to bust nuts. >> That's fair. >> Buzz nuts. >> All I'm saying is like what's Okay. What's the thing that you guys where you're like, "Man, this is I wanted this so bad." And then you checked it off and you're like, [snorts] "Okay, well, I could get that any time of the day. ████ it. Move on." >> I felt like that when I got my black belt, actually. And not like, >> oh ████ >> Like after I got it, there was a sense of like like, >> you know, like >> what's that? What's that? >> I don't know. It You think it would be way cooler? >> It wasn't all like as it seems like all

30 built. >> You think it' be way bigger in your head and then when you get it, maybe this is just what it's like when you just accomplish a goal in general. like when you actually get it like you know what everyone says it's the pursuit it's not the actual >> or maybe maybe Linhardt just didn't do a sick enough ceremony. >> No, it's because it's not about the ceremony cuz I think it's more about your own like this is a thing that you kind of think about your whole life or while you're doing this this this type of training and it's like a big goal that everyone like kind of puts on you. >> Did you cry? >> Did you get a some tears? >> No, I felt proud of myself. Well, maybe you're just a bad student. >> That too. >> I saw so many videos of people getting a black belt and they're crying and they're grateful and you're ungrateful. >> Maybe I'm not grateful. >> No, but a black the black belt here is like they see it's like you got a PhD, but in reality it's actually like you

20 graduated junior high. >> That's what it felt like actually. >> But that's the truth though. Like you're actually understanding. >> It was lame cuz it's like they always tell you like when you get a black belt you're you you become a white belt again and you're always like, "Yeah, shut the ████ up." And only black belts say that to me. >> Yeah. Shut the ████ up, loser. Right. And then you get it and you're like, "F███, I feel like I'm a white belt again." You feel like you have to You start over from the beginning. >> Shut the ████ up. >> No, it is true. It's true. In America, it's like black belt means master. In Japan, that means, "Hey, you're ready cuz you understand all the basics and I don't have to remind." And that's what it really is cuz like when you go train with with the world class guys, the best guys in the world at at Bart's gym and you train with these highle black belts and I'm a black belt on paper, right? You train with them and you're like, I might as well have never done jiu-jitsu a day in my life when I roll with these

11 guys. Like I'm ████ helpless, right? But that's when you go like and then you watch these guys games and you're like they're not doing anything necessarily. I don't know. It's just their execution, the level of mastery is just at a such higher level. So, it kind of makes you go, "Oh, okay. All right. Well, it's not necessarily that it's something I don't know how to do. It's just the time and effort that you put into >> Well, it's not that you reached like the peak. >> It's a sharpening now." And you go like, "Oh, that's the real art. That's the real mastery." And you go, "Oh, that's actually kind of cool." So, in a lot of ways, it wasn't that like I thought in the moment when I got it, it was going to feel like a bigger moment, but then you just realize like, oh, just the destination kind of changes a little bit where you go like, oh, there's a new goal. And so, like I I think that's kind of what I feel. Every time you get a big like bucket list goal or something like that, you just go uh like that was

03 tight. But then I think it's just human nature just to immediately look at the next thing. But what about fun ████ that isn't tied to like skill-based or hard work like like just be like I never been to Antarctica. >> Travel destinations or something, right? Like say like like Hawaii was a big one for us. We got to go. We're like this is amazing. And it was amazing. >> But then you're just like all right well when you come back you go all right what's next? What's the next ████ island we can go to? Right. It's just it's just kind of what it is. >> Yeah, >> right. And it's it's just things that you end up chasing. And so like when it comes to goal setting like that in a lot of ways like bucket list I just kind of treat them as all experiences in a way. I don't know if that makes any sense at all but it's like it's cool to keep your attention on something for a while but then once you get it you just immediately go on to the next. >> I think I'm more with Nick along this

53 cuz I'll see like people's reels right like all [gasps] I ever wanted to do was go to the Great Wall of China. Oh my god I can't believe I'm ████ here. I'm almost ████ here. Like I've never had one where like I really want to go there and I or do it or whatever and then I do it and I have that feeling. I think because they're performing on reals. >> I also think I also think that's the whole point of it being like a list. >> It's that you don't accomplish one thing and then feel accomplished. >> Yeah. >> Oh, it's just one of the things. >> It's a collection. >> It's if you were able to do that whole list in your lifetime, >> you did something ████ phenomenal >> actually. >> Cuz I think you need the target though. Yeah, it's it's it's not it's not phenomenal enough that he just got a black belt which is already above average beyond metrics in one lane. >> It's more so a resume

43 >> if he did that and he he was he saw the the great wonders of the world >> and he did skydiving. You know, it's like the things that somebody will never do but somebody was able to accumulate their version of the list of of challenges that are improbable and then completing all of them. That is phenomenal. Cuz when you talk to someone that you're like really impressed by that you just meet randomly, it's like you start talking to them and they have all these different stories and they're like you did this, you did that and like whenever their their like story is just all over the map, you're like whoa, what the ████ You just kind of immediately just become more impressed with people just because once you >> Yeah. And once you're also a person that like kind of chases similar things, you realize like, yo, that's ████ hard. You did that. Like you you immedately become a lot more interesting, I think. And all those people that you tend to talk to, they just have such cool perspectives on lives on life in general

35 because they've just seen it from so many different points of view. And I think like that's a really that's I think that's the why people want you to chase bucket list and have like these things cuz I think for a while I used to always think it was stupid. I used to be like what's the point, you know? But then you realize like oh that's >> you don't like to have hope. >> Yeah. You got to like rack up you got to just go try to rack up ████ You got to go just experience and things. And I think that's how I want to think of things as more of like experiences than anything. >> One of my big bucket list audits that was off was I thought I was going to be married before 30 >> cuz as a kid I set that goal. >> There's a couple reasons why it didn't happen. And one of them is pretty funny, but I think it was also kind of like my breakout moment. I don't know why, but on one of my mom's ████ fortune teller readings, it said, "No ma, no matter who you marry, if it's before 30,

27 you're going to get divorced." >> Whoa. And that was something I heard ever since I was a kid. Like I was 10, 11, 12, 13, my mom would always >> probability is high. >> It is high. But when you hear that and going through the childhood that I had when my parents were divorced, I never want that to happen. So, it was one of those things where I was like, I don't give a ████ if this is real or not. I'm just not going to take any chances. If I ████ up, I want it to be I ████ up, but not because of some reading. >> So, um, so I met Gio or we got together in 2008, so I was 28 already, which means I only had about a year or two, but I didn't even know if we were going to get married. So, there's also the timeline that was off. Um, and then so we got married a little bit later and then we ended up having kids a little bit later. So everything was kind of just shifted like maybe five plus years.

17 But also that how that affected one of my other bucket list things. I always wanted a bunch of kids. I wanted like five or six kids. >> But just with Gio's age that's not possible. >> Geriatric. >> Geriatric that's not possible. So everything kind of like and you know how sometimes you you miss the bucket list and you got to recalibrate. >> Yeah. >> So in the recalibration part we're like okay cool then it's going to be Taika. We did try again for a second for a whole year. Didn't happen. Okay, that's fine. Life is life. But I think uh how I learned from that cuz I feel like every milestone you kind of like in the black belt metaphor you do become a white belt again. So I went through that. How can I pass that on to the next white belt which is Tika. I feel like my goal as a father is to help him not have as much trials in the 20 to 30s. you frontload that so they have less of figuring out like who am I and then that way they can

07 be like the other kids who have it figured out and is already on track so his 20 to30s is other people's 30 to 40s so he can have the earlier marriage the kids and and whatever wow >> that's that's like where I where I >> that's actually >> from my audit for my own audit that's how I would try to pass it on to him >> that's smart cuz I think that's why kids uh parents put all their kids in like so many different sports activities cuz it it teaches them right away. Like that mindset of like, "All right, you're going to go through some ████ but just keep going. You'll be fine." >> You can figure yourself out more. >> Yeah. In a way that kids can understand, you know? >> That's tight. >> I I think that's a new shift in mentality. I think that, you know, really great parents were doing that before. I also think a bunch of parents were like, "We need a babysitter that's, you know, a program that I could drop my kid off at so I can still work." >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

58 >> After school programs. I just want entertainment and cute things to hug. >> We're like, "Wait, I have to buy how many uniforms?" No, you're not doing that. You're doing music. >> I like bucket list though because it whenever I have a feeling like, "Oh, that that would be really fun to learn how to ride a horse, type it in my list, you know, and then like whenever you do have a little bit of time to add another thing, hobby into your life, you could go into the list and go, you know what? I haven't done I haven't done this yet. I haven't gone to Italy yet. I haven't done that. And I'm like, I got time for that. And I like I like it cuz I don't want to. To me, it's hard to when you go, okay, and I'm sitting down by my computer now. Now it's time to be inspired and think about dreams. It's really hard for me to do that. Like when it's so like mechanical

49 >> cuz a lot of cool inspiration comes like when you're just driving around, you're in conversation and you're just like, "Oh, what? You've been to ████ Croatia? I even thought about going to Croatia. Or >> when you're out there doing the thing, you know, when you're like, I can't believe I have I've never discovered this. Where else have I never been? >> Yeah. Yeah. And then you type it in, you go, all right, I'mma ████ go later. Cuz that capturing that like wonder. I think that's important cuz it's really hard to like, all right, here we go. What's my 100 lists of things that I want to try? Like I I'll be sitting there like, I don't know. ████ But um the next thing I want to do is I want to astral project. I I would love to astro project. Um that's uh that's Yeah, I guess we could just add that to a list. You just got to >> I want to ████ I want to ████

40 >> naively be like no things that you're in control of because that's the whole point, right? You like learn how to project. >> I think my mom probably does that daily. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Do a live session. I'm gonna go visit you and I'mma call you up and be like, "Hey, Anthony, were you uh just breastfeeding Lana?" And then you're like, "Yep." Your cell phone astro projects, [laughter] too. >> You mean FaceTime? [laughter]
