05 Welcome back to Careful Boys. Today having above the influence here, we're going to talk about the origin of Ian, which people don't really understand or know. >> That is Ian. >> How's it going? >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> And then I met Ian like a while back when we filmed over at >> Oh, wait. That's what we wanted to mention. you you know you guys we actually filmed like a the last ever episode of UPI was you guys on there got released right >> we were like hey that's cool we're going to finally you know >> and it was a great episode too >> such a good episode >> it was legit like the week it was scheduled to come out was the week we got like mega cancelled last November it was it's almost been a full year since our first >> and would it be okay to release it or >> no no I can't get the footage so we like yeah we're just like in like constant like legal fighting with neck >> all I remember is we didn't want going to put it out because all the all of the
57 uh negative attention was on us and we love you guys. We didn't want it to >> I I was like, "Dude, that this is a perfect time. >> If anyone's about that ████ it's them." Yeah, >> we were like, "Come on, we need the views. [laughter] >> Let's go." >> But yeah, so um that happened, but hopefully we'll be able to film like the replacement episode tomorrow, right? >> Yeah. >> So, what's Ian's origin story with you guys? >> Well, actually at that time I was a producer for the show. >> Yeah. Yeah, he was like the behind the camera guy when when you guys came to film. But um >> Oh, so you were drinking a lot then? Probably. >> No, less actually. I This is like >> But then if you're going to drink a lot, I think you're going to need a little something something out [laughter] of my dog. You know what I mean? >> Well, if you're drinking, you need the drinking gum. So, this is Super Bonsai's latest product. >> Yeah. I said 67. >> Oh, you guys are so uncro.
49 >> Are we cool though? Are we cool? >> You guys are cool. Oh, yeah. We used to look up to you guys. >> Used to. >> Well, now now we know each other, right? You know, >> now they just look down. >> Come true, guys. >> Now we're friends. >> So, what is this? Can I see one? >> Now I'm like, you guys, these guys are kind of weird. [laughter] >> The drinking gum. >> So, we uh obviously our very first product was anti-hangover pills and they use like herbs like DHM and B vitamins from Asia to help you stop your hangover. But we figured out how to put it in gum. We got inspired by neural gum and so now it's in a gum form. You can chew it. It delivers the the vitamins and herbs like bugle through your mouth lining. >> You want to try? >> Yep. >> And just tastes minty. Slightly herbal. Freshens your breath and your morning still. >> Hey, >> you want to try? Are you chewing up? >> Does she look like she's chewing up? >> No. >> Before drinking, then follow the chart
39 for additional pieces after. We'll just follow the chart on the back. >> One to drink. One to two drinks is one piece. So I got to take three pieces every time. >> You do seven drinks EVERY TIME. >> WELL, YOU TAKE A LOT OF GUM in general, right? You might need just do the whole package of alcohol. >> You're doing suppositories of alcohol up your ████ So yeah, you should probably >> I need like a lifetime supply that will finish in a month. >> You need like a PEZ dispenser, but just with the drinking gum. >> I I'll send you your own your own supply. >> Hey, we need to drop ship it to Anthony. >> Hey, don't joke around, dude. I'll be I'd be take that out with take that out with you and just like let me know how you feel the next day. >> And you can share with your friends and stuff. the hangover pills, right? Not not only did I dust all of them and the liver drops and everything you ████ seeed us, >> but also I went to my cousins >> who's a lightweight >> and then he's like, "Yo, I got to take these hangover pills because like I can't drink right now." I was like, "Hangover pills?" And he pulls out the
30 super bonsai that he just bought himself. >> Hell yeah. >> And then I took that ████ and I threw it in the trash. [laughter] >> Sick. Sick. >> Appreciate you. Now he has to buy another one. [laughter] >> Don't let me do the drink. >> Hey, this tastes pretty good. >> Yeah, right. It is bomb. No, it's good. What's the flavor? What is this flavor? >> Uh, it's just spearmint. >> Mint. >> It adds 100 horsepower. >> Mhm. >> Health points. >> Damn, homie. >> I'm about to eat some ████ like crazy when I get [laughter] >> But yeah, so newest products finally live now. It's the world's first anti-hangover gum. So, >> they get where they get it. >> Uh, superb bonsai.com, Amazon, also Tik Tok shop. So, if you follow us on Tik Tok, you've probably seen us posting about it. >> That's cool, man. And like the best use case I would say and Mu also says is like if you have the super bonsai pills then you can take those like before you go on the night out and then with this you can just pop it in like it freshens
20 your breath plus like it gets you a little bit extra DHM B vitamins. So like if you can do both that would be best obviously because you can put a lot more in a pill than you can in gum but just the gum will do the trick too. >> That's my goal. >> And you're getting a little litty. You're getting a little litty right? >> Getting a little litty as the kids say. >> Absolutely. >> I definitely get litty on the podcast. Yeah. >> Why Why do you like drinking so much on the podcast? >> Only It's funny. I'm like not a big drinker. Um I like I will, don't get me wrong, but like on the podcast it's like the secret sauce. Like if I'm like between like two to four drinks in, like >> flow state. Like it's so much better. I just >> Well, not Do you drink? You drink, right? >> I'm drinking right now, my brother. [laughter] >> And I'm eating the gum. That's good for you. >> ████ yeah. I know Anthony drinks. He's the only one we've ever taken shots. No, me and Anthony uh both on the show all the time. >> I smoke cigars, but I don't want to
10 smoke in front of you guys in here. >> Fair. >> I would one day though. [laughter] >> You don't drink or smoke? Huh? >> Not really. I mean, I'll put on a cigar here and there, but not really. >> Next time we're going to do the podcast, we're going to do it at Anony's house on his bed and we'll use his bed as ashtray. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. [laughter] We don't want to smoke in the studio, but we'd smoke in Anony's cheap ass house. [laughter] >> Anthony, why why are they dunking on you like that? >> Cuz it's cheap. He went cheap on the house. >> I think usually it's like envy. >> No, >> but in this case it's because it's a cheap ass house. [laughter] >> Yo, we didn't get to do it at the election party. I bought hella cigars that day. We didn't even ████ spark it up. I was so ready to ash on his bed. >> I know, man. >> We even won, too. >> I know. [laughter] >> Stupid. >> Well, Ian's origin. How' you What is
00 your origin? How did you How did you get >> How do you get from producer to on camera? or how did you even start with us? >> Well, so originally when I was in college, I uh I bounced around a lot with majors. Like I didn't really know what I wanted to do. And then my senior year, I like jokingly started a podcast. And um I don't know, like the social media thing was the only thing I've ever done where I was like, I could see myself actually doing this and not being miserable. So when I graduated college, I was uh working in a restaurant and just looking for opportunities. And I uh very fortunately stumbled upon story. It was like looking for an unpaid intern. So, uh, yeah, >> unpaid, important word, >> emphasis. >> Yeah. So, I worked for him for a while and I was still working in the restaurant and then he brought me on full-time. So, at that point, I was just working like basically as this >> full-time as paid though. Full-time was paid. >> Right. Right. Right. Right. Yeah. Um, I was working as an assistant for a while and then like they offered me the position just to be like a producer for under the influence. Um, and then I
53 don't know I what came into be Oh, the reason why I'm here as a host now is because they had me on as a guest. Um, and I don't know, it was a really entertaining episode. >> I think he's being humble. >> I think at every point he has showed true dedication to achieving greatness. >> He's one of the hardest workers that works for us. Genuinely, this kid when he when he showed up to to interview for the unpaid internship. >> Okay, you don't need to emphasize it that much. >> Oh, [laughter] I was just >> severely underpaid inter unpaid, right? >> I was paying them. [laughter] >> Paid in paid in food and vibes. >> They they said that he was the only one that showed up taking notes, blah blah blah, and it was a clear-cut choice. >> They didn't even interview him. They saw that he showed up with cuz I didn't interview him. My co-founders did. He showed up with a notepad and they said, "You're good. You got the job." >> Damn, dude. That's crazy. But it's it's one thing to do that and then
43 continuously years year after year show up and like >> go above and beyond. >> Yeah. >> That's how you guys land a job, dude. >> Yep. >> Free work. >> Cuz a lot of people these days are like I didn't get the job and I did the bare minimum and I don't know what went wrong. They're like what the ████ Are you serious? >> And like we've like given him so many more jobs. He's made he's gotten like raises, promotions, like so many things like within what like two years now. He's been with us since Super Vines I started. Yeah, >> it's worth it to get exploited for 3 years so you could be a millionaire for the next year and then spend it all >> exploit like a month of maybe unpaid. >> Oh, that's real. Damn, dude. We We got freaking interns for like two years unpaid, bro. >> I'm still here. >> ████ unpaid. [laughter] >> Might as well be. Oh, I got all kinds of ████ >> I got all my Norton ████ going off like crazy cuz you guys are saying bad words.
34 But as far as like the the actual podcast itself, I just came on as a guest and it was a pretty >> The first episode was hilarious because it was Ian trying to get with his first baddie and so it was the entire podcast us dedicated to getting Ian his first hot female. >> Was it like a dating show like you invited girls and then he had to >> Well, we did as the bonus content. He did an eate with this girl that we know. Um but >> like a Discord like a Google meet like a ████ FaceTime basically but over Discord. >> That's some co ████ But you guys order like the same food. Like you guys Postmates both from like McDonald's or something. >> We were just chatting. We were just chatting. >> But he was genuinely like locked in with this girl who was very attractive. Would you The most attractive girl you've ever spoken to? >> For sure. Like genuinely. Yeah. Of course. Yeah. And it's not close. Like this girl is very beautiful. >> Yeah. >> And she was interested. So we were
24 trying to set it up. >> What's your type? What's your type? >> So we get so we can picture. Well, it's funny because she wasn't exactly my type, but she was just so beautiful that it didn't even matter. >> What What's she look like? >> How do I explain? She's like >> He's going to be humble about it. >> An egirl. Like the typical like egirl like Twitch streamer like ones that do cosplays, but they're like super bad. So like >> So she looks like Bel Defi. >> Like Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, almost. She probably does look like that. >> Like a like a Caucasian Beldefe. >> Oh, okay. >> Like you could drown smothering her breasts. >> I have no idea who Beli is. >> But you just said yes. [laughter] I don't know who that is either, but >> she was like the bathwater girl, dude. >> Oh, right. >> That's why I know the name. >> Like brunette freckles. >> I think she's like the one the the origin of the egirl look. >> Well, Sydney Sweetie did the bathwater thing, too. >> Yeah, but she started it. >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I remember we did that on JK. I remember that. Okay.
15 >> What advice would you have for my young boy over there who fumbled his first true baddy? >> Well, how do you fumble the baddy? What' you do? >> Tell them what you did. >> Don't be yourself. [laughter] That's what That's what we said. >> Did you send your dick right away? >> No. No. Things just fizzled out. I think I don't think I did anything necessarily out the gates that was necessarily that bad. I I mean, I literally walked them through exactly what I did as part of the episode. And I feel like it like at no point was there any like glaring issues, but like sometimes things just fizzle out. >> Did you go from E date to real date or No, >> we never actually So that was different girl. >> Yeah. >> Did you see that you were wearing a pearl necklace and she's like, >> "No, no, those are uh those are in now." >> Okay, those are in. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Damn. I'm out. So I'm out. I'm out. >> They are in. Yeah, >> they they were in with us first. >> Well, the metaphor was, >> but not the necklace itself.
05 >> No, on ████ for sure. The metaphor is that if you come all over a b████'s neck, we call it a pearl necklace cuz cuz on account a ████ looks white. >> You like that? [laughter] >> No. >> That's vulgar as hell. >> Like a ████ shot. >> No, I'm down for it. Um, well the extra layer I made. >> Give me your truly. That's my truly. Give me your truly. [laughter] >> Anytime anytime a girl like says anything with neck, I'm like, "Well, I made it." So >> dove in the ocean and like >> ████ >> I I raised the clams personally. >> Oh, you're the science kid. >> No, I did not do that. But I I I bought the pearls and I like stringed it and ████ I don't know. >> That's cool. You arts and crafted it. >> Yeah. So it's like more chill. Like it's like it's a little fruity, but it's also like artsy. >> But it looks like my grandma's wearing that ████ You know what I mean? A little Your grandma does not have this drip. >> My grandma? Well, she's dead. [laughter] No, my grandma is literally in an urn
56 like this size and she's dust now. But >> so she's not wearing the necklace stand. SHE'S LIKE AN UNCLE AND nephew's fighting. >> 5 years ago she was homie. >> Uncle nephew's fighting right now. [laughter] >> RP freedom a Miller. Her name is Freda by the way. She's born 1935. >> Damn. 35. [laughter] >> This cat's born in what? 2001. >> Holy ████ Different millennium. >> Yeah, a little bit. >> Wait, did you say she died in 35? No, no, >> no. She's born 35. >> But like this cat's grandma's born in like 1991 and ████ [laughter] >> She's younger than us and ████ dude. >> Wait, no, actually my grandparents are super old cuz my parents are super old. Remember the the future dish thing? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> How how you know where your parents born? >> My dad was 55. >> Oh, wow. Actually, >> and then my mom was uh 62. >> Yeah, my mom was 62. >> Your mom was 62 when you were born?
46 >> No, no, no. Born in 62. She's now 63, which is pretty old cuz I'm the only child. >> Yeah, for 24. >> My parents had me at 39 and 46 >> and I'm the only kid. >> What year were your parents born? >> 65. >> Okay. >> Yeah, >> that Yeah, that's better. >> Yeah, my mom was 30 when she >> My mom was 73. >> What? What the ████ are you talking about? Oh. Oh, she was in 73. My bad. >> How do you guys know your mom's birth year? >> I don't know any of that. >> My mom is exactly 30 years older than me. >> I'm always 78. 78. I messed it up. 78. >> My mom's a 70. My dad's a 69. That's how I remember. >> Huh? Love that one. Love their dad. Love your dad. >> Love your dad. Have you done it? >> 69. >> Great. We love We love that one. >> I don't know. Is there anything else about the origin story that's even like >> I don't know. Oh, you're just an
36 interesting individual. What? >> I do have Yeah. >> So, he's like basically Spongebob as a human being. Like a real life Spongebob. >> Well, that's a good comp with the shirt. Like like when he gets excited like no lie, not an act, he will dead ass go yippee and like like a collab like that. [laughter] >> Fun fact, I used to hate Ian. >> Yeah. Well, >> like 3 years ago when I was super depressed and at war with myself and the world. >> Literally that. >> No, genuinely that's what it was. He was too happy. I'm like every time he would come around me, I'm like, "What the ████ are you so positive for?" [laughter] And it would piss me off. And then um >> when you guys look exactly alike, >> the more healing I did and the more inner work I did, I was like, "Yo, Eden's really ████ dope." Like the more I got to know him. >> One of the first experiences I ever had with Vit, we were like walking out of Wo Talk's apartment and I like for whatever reason chose to like jog. You [laughter]
27 >> just chose to jog. >> Yeah. Well, some Well, sometimes this is like a nonsecutor, but like if I'm by myself especially, like I just run places. I don't really walk all that much. >> Don't you want to be efficient? [laughter] just >> on some force gum ████ >> But but anyways, so like I decided to like hit a jog and bit was literally like never do that again. [laughter] >> Okay, wait wait wait wait hold on. I will say though I have to watch you do stuff sometimes and tell you never do that again. >> He some he'll jog but he'll jog like >> he just does strange ████ >> Strange ████ >> That's crazy. >> One time like I was like talking to like a group of people and he pulls up on me to ask for something. He pulls up like this and spins into the conversation. >> That's weird. >> And then stops and he's like, "Whoa, can I borrow your And I'm like, never do that again." Like, never do that again in front of guests, please. And he just does like things that like everyone stops and they're like, "What was that?" Like, he just >> I'm on his team now. I'm on his
18 >> No, I love him now. I genuinely I love him. >> Uh, >> dude, what's ████ up about your generation is you guys are talking about inner work and he was like 25. extent of
