Joe Jitsukawa (Joe Jo)

a.k.a. “Sh*t Boy”

The hustle-culture half of the founding duo — comedian turned 'serial entrepreneur.'

Co-founded JustKiddingFilms in 2007 with Bart Kwan. Self-described serial entrepreneur, comedian, investor and public speaker. Publicly tells a 'delinquent-to-top-of-class' turnaround story.

Japanese-American, born and raised in Los Angeles.

# How Joe Got to the Table

Joe's the other co-founder. In 2007 he and Bart Kwan turned their MMA-gym bits ('Unco Chin' and 'Unco Same') into JustKiddingFilms — the channel that grew into JK News, Off The Record, and the Careful Boyz.

# Lore at the Table

  • Joemalia & Emperor Joverdose Joe is the self-appointed Glorious King of Joemalia, a fictional nation that runs on 'an overdose of justice.' Citizenship is open to all Degenerates; just don't be a dumbass. The deepest cut in the whole JKFilms canon.
  • Boba Time → an actual empire the boba bit goes back to a 2008 JKFilms sketch and never left (it still surfaces in 100+ episodes). Eventually it stopped being a joke when Joe co-built the real matcha/boba brand Junbi.
  • Shogun Brain a card-carrying history buff whose feudal-Japan / samurai / Sengoku tangents derail any episode (the table's clocked it across 100+ shows). The Emperor-of-Joemalia bit basically grew out of this obsession.
  • Unco Chin before anyone knew his name or face, Joe was 'Unco Chin,' the loud immigrant 'uncle' character (handle: theuncochin) that, paired with Bart's Unco Same, kicked off the entire JKFilms universe back in 2007.
  • The Bowel Chronicles foundational, deeply un-classy JK canon: a long-running saga of clogged toilets and emergency pit-stops, Joe co-starring in Bart's infamous 'Poop Chronicles.' Canon all the same.
  • The legendary Off-The-Record story every fan knows the one: an infamous tale from Joe's wilder days, told in the confessional, involving a working girl and a level of, let's say, enthusiastic generosity that earned him permanent legend status. The crew drags it back out whenever they want to watch him squirm.
  • Gang-days to Magna Cum Laude the origin myth the cast loves to mine: an LA kid written off as a delinquent who flipped it at 18 (GED, then graduated Magna Cum Laude) before quitting the 9-to-5 for comedy.
  • Just the Junbi Bathroom Guy the running deflation of Emperor Joe: for all the boba-empire talk, the bit is that Joe's really just an employee at Junbi who wipes down and washes the bathroom, because David So is the one who actually owns the place. King of Joemalia, janitor of Junbi.

Joe & Hannah — straight to the chapel
Joe & Hannah — straight to the chapel

Married to Hannah Hodge (@hannahbhodge) — the Celtic-redhead who went from 'Joe's girlfriend Hannah' in the 2023 Off The Record hot-seat episodes to one of the most-referenced people at the whole table (she turns up across 340+ episodes). The origin is pure Joe: a few hours after his mom first met Hannah, she told him to go marry her — so they did, courthouse-style, and only announced it on his channel over a year later ('So… We got married,' 2023). She's edited his videos, sat in for on-air couple's counseling, and 'Hannah's Perspective of Joe Never Proposing' is its own running bit. If you only know Joe as the hustle-culture guy, Hannah is the half of the story that makes the rest make sense.

Brown
Joe & Brown · RIP
in memoriam

Before the matcha empire — before the table — there was Brown, one of the original four-legged regulars on the old JKFilms channel. Brown passed in December 2015, and Joe's public goodbye stuck with the Degenerates: 'I miss this guy so much. RIP Brown.'
